Angelina Jolie gives a very revealing interview in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Here are a few HIGHlights from the article!
Entertainment WeeklY: In many ways you're a very polarizing figure. People either worship you or they can't stand you. Have you thought about why that is?
Angelina Jolie: I'd like to think it's because I'm not neither here nor there in my life. I think anybody that makes a decision about where they stand is going to cause strong opinions about them. But I think that's what you should be hoping for in life, so I take that as a very good sign. That some people support me and some people really don't like me tells me that I'm making decisions and I'm standing strong for something I believe in. I'm making choices in life. And that's the right thing to do.
You and Brad aren't married. How do you refer to each other?
We have that problem all the time. I say ”partner” sometimes. ”Father of my children” is too long. But half the time people refer to us as, ”So, your wife this, your husband that.” We've stopped correcting everybody. It's not a big intentional thing not to marry. We immediately were a family when we became a couple, and children were the priority, and we're both legally committed to the children. And that seemed to be the right thing.
Some people can't reconcile your old persona, where you talked about knives and cutting, with your more recent identity as a mother and activist.
But again, it's not that different. The reason I talked about going through certain pains or even cutting myself is that I was already out the other side. I knew there were people that do that — and somehow are happy that somebody admitted they did and discussed how they got out of it. I don't see the point of doing an interview unless you're going to share the things you learn in life and the mistakes you make. So to admit that I'm extremely human and have done some dark things, I don't think makes me unusual or unusually dark. I think it actually is the right thing to do and I'd like to think it's the nice thing to do.

Skeleton arms? Vagina lips? Honestly, I try to figure out WHY everybody finds her so attractive and sorry, I just don't see it! Charlize Theron, Katherine Zeta-Jones, Naomi Watts, Natalie Portman - now those are some truly beautiful ladies. Angelina is just a fake plastic bitch.

As far as "famous" people goes, she rules, she may not be perfect, but no one is, and she is more real then all these other totally fake bitches, she doesnt try to keep up this facade…I respect that, she is growing up in a manner to respect (yes she is a "homewrecker" but no one forced Brad to do anything and that seems to be forgotten, she gets all the blame)—compared to all these other "famous" actresses around today, lindsay, jessicas, etc…she tries to keep a low profile and seems to be pretty open about her flaws and mistakes, you cant knock that…and she has never tried to pimp her image out with a clothing line, etc and that is HUGE within itself, she uses her money and image for good, and seems to do it since she gets pleasure in it, not for publicity and her pic in the paper, etc.

Women (and I'm female), when their man cheats, will almost always reflexively blame the other woman and forgive the man. This tactic would make sense - if we still relied on men for money to survive. It's obvious that sparks flew during MAMS but it's not cheating so long as they didn't do anything romantically until after he had separated AND they weren't seen together until after he and Jen had separated. So long as he was honest with Jen about his change of feelings before he started a relationship with Ang (and none of us know that he wasn't honest with Jen), he's not a cheater. As much as it may hurt, people should be free to follow their heart, we can only expect for someone to be honest with us.
The only thing they're guilty of is maybe not giving Jen enough time to adjust, being that they moved so quickly during Brad's separation. It's not uncommon for people to date others during a separation but if the person being left is really hurt, it is more kind to wait until after the divorce is final before getting so deeply involved with someone else (and also more prudent for oneself in many ways anyways). But it never seemed like Jen was very much in love with Brad anyways, so maybe that's why he moved on so quickly.

I saw Brad Pitt doing an interview the other day and one comment he made was "be careful what you wish for". I really think he meant that in a very deep way. I think he has jumped into this relationship, not thinking that it will be very hard for him to get out of it now without looking like a real jerk. He knows he has made the biggest mistake of his life hooking up with this psyco.
I don't get it. How does someone "steal" a husband? I mean, really. Here is something to think about. What if, and this is just a thought… have any of you people that call this woman a homewrecker ever thought that just because Jen and Brad looked "so happy" on camera, that it was all just an act? Just because a couple looks very happy posing for pictures while walking on a red carpet means NOTHING.

I hate how people feel the need to judge her and say she "destroyed" Brad's & Jen's relationship or "stole" Jen's husband, because if the relationship between them would have been going well she would not have been possible to do so. With her background, it might have seemed to her as a child that anything goes in relationships, so that you'd better get yours, or be sad like Mom. Hindsight is 20/20, but her emphasis on trying to do the right thing denotes a person who is learning to cognizantly and deliberately reflect on her next moves and their ramifications first, and I commend her for caring about what the right thing is, because most people don't, and it's a much more aware way to live your life. Good for her for still caring, and for still trying. She has financial blessings, and didn't have to bother. Many don't.
She's smart, and I think it's marvelous kismet that she's met a man whose marriage was unfulfilled and wanted children when she was bravely alone at the same juncture, and that she has a stand up partner with the same goals and wishes. She deserves to be happy. She's earned it. I feel intrusive commenting, but as it's all out there, I think understanding is paramount, rather than some of the erroneous and hurtful comments being spewed here unthinkingly. Adversity does indeed build character, and she's proven that she has plenty. I hope it's a Hollywood happy ending.
