Missy Elliot is coming out with a long-awaited new album, Block Party, later this summer and the first single has just dropped.
Best, Best is an R&B jam with Missy singing and not rapping. The song was produced by Timbaland's protege, Danja, and we like it. But we don't love it!
1) Missy is singing, and that's not her forte.
2) Missy is singing about a man, and that's just not believable!

I'm hearing Madonna in there on the backing vocals.. could it be that she is doing Missy a favor after Missy did that really smokin' number with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera some years back? I'm all for vocalists trying out different styles! She sounds good and looks so pretty in that photo.

I like how she says
"let's switch it up". It's not your typical Missy, but It's still good! I love her voice…..maybe she wants to try something different…alot of people don't like change haha and look down apon it unless an artist never tries soemthing different…….ugh..I live it quite a lot!

so much talent, soul and skill, AMAZING performers…today R&B is such crap in comparison: hollow, materialistic..no singing, no actual playing of instruments…so damn sad. I hope old and real talent make a comeback and buries this other crap, it stinks. I see a few greats pop up now and again, but they are rare and not appreciated as much as they should be. Missy is not that great and she looks funny, I hate to say it but she looked better with the extra weight.

Because the song sits in such a low tessitura (range for most of the song) it actually sounds like Chris Brown is singing.
