I find these posts so frustruating. Do any of you REALLY know why inflation is up and the economy is faultering? Many of the reasons are due to legislation passed by the Democratic congress. I'm a Libertarian so I'm not siding with the Republicans, but I just wish people would read an economics book!! I love this blog and read it daily, but I'm getting more and more turned off by these political posts.

And face it, kids– the price of gasoline will NEVER go down unless it's forced to. So prices will STAY high. Or go higher. If you haven't noticed, our crumbling national infrastructure isn't holding up to all the bad weather we've been having, which is making things even worse. If our leaders won't have the political balls to DO SOMETHING about this, the country's going into the shitter permanently.

Well, its really all Bill Clinton's fault. Back in 1999 when he lowered the commodities corporate ownership law from 50% ownership to 5%. That opened up the flood gates to cheap corporate speculation. Befor that you had to fork up 50% of your own cash to speculate on commodites. Now you only haveto hand out 5%. Food and oil were not meant to have speculated like this. World economies were not biult for these types of swings. If you want gas and food pricesto go down. Bush or Obama/MCain bust repeal that executive decision that Slick Willie did for his cronies. Youll see oil shoot down to $60/barrel and food prices to go back to normal within a year. This is the true cause for weak dollar and most of our economic problems.

Okay, inflation is up, but putting a picture of George Bush up on this entry is just plain ignorant. It's just adding to the "Blame Bush' mentality that is plaguing this country. I am no fan of his, but I also think that any reasonable human being would look at all the sources of the problems of this country.
I have seen a few posts about OPEC being to blame. Kudos to you. There are of course other reasons, but OPEC is at the top of that list. Also for those you care read articles about your best liberal friend George Soros.
For those of you who have forgotten, our government doesn't just consist of George Bush. It also includes the Democrat Congress which has a job approval rating of 18% vs. Bush's 28%. These figures come the Gallup Poll who are one of the most trusted polling sites. Both their numbers should disgust everyone and yes, they are partially responsible for inflation.
We also can't forget the Fed and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke. They control the interests rates in this country, and how they've controlled them has been questionable.
The point of all of this, is that every problem in this country cannot be blamed on GWB!
And here's a little trivia for you. The average inflation rates during the Bush and Clinton administrations were nearly identical, 2.69% and 2.61%, respectively. I seriously doubt that Perez would have posted about inflation in the Clinton administration.

Sure the Taliban is not my ideal but at least when they were in charge my family was healthy and had food. One problem with blaming Bush…. he doesn't control the price of oil, which is the reason for the soaring prices. But lets all blame him, because he's a republican! Yeah, because alll democrats are only there to help, like Hillary… who is the devil in a suit. Or Obama, who follows a racest minister. Yeah, that will be better!
This is just political play tactics. Bush runs us into the ground, then blames it on the new prez. This happened with Clinton, and Bush blamed clinton (nothing like payback, eh). If you look back at history, there has always been a fiscal change in the months leading up to an election. This isn't news to those who have paid attention to history
