On Friday, Oscar winner Kevin Spacey was named Professor of Contemporary Theater at Oxford's St. Catherine's College.
Fancy school!
In a statement, Spacey said he was delighted to be appointed to the one-year post, which requires him to give lectures, workshops and seminars.
"It really is an honor for me to have been invited to follow such illustrious names and take up this role at Oxford," he said. "The university is steeped in tradition and has a great heritage in the arts, and I look forward to working with the students and staff."
Like Bryan Singer, Spacey's a total chicken hawk.

Why doesn't he just come out of the closet? Met him in Savannah years ago and he was trolling for little boys at all the gay bars.

If Kevin Spacey's gay, then I'll be the tsar of all the Russias. I came across him last Saturday at the flying machines competition on the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park. He was with a tall blonde WOMAN and they seemed very much into each other.

No kidding: that woman was his long-time girlfriend Dianne Dreyer and he'd been showing up with her for years, since they met on the set of "Glengarry GlenRoss" in 1992. But as Dianne is not a celebrity – only a humble script supervisor – no one noticed her. And don't bring up the old tired "beard" argument, please: he was with her way before he became famous. He also dated April Winchell (she gladly talked about their past relationship) and, briefly, Helen Hunt. Now I know from a reliable source that he's currently in a stable relationship with a woman in London.
Spacey still adamantly denies being gay. He's rather touchy about that subject – he was recently very cross on Conan when someone in the audience giggled stupidly at him saying he wanted to do "other things" with Jeff Goldblum, his co-star in Mamet's 'Speed-the-Plow'.
But basically that gay rumor doesn't harm him. It might even protect him from any further unwelcome scrutiny, just as it protected Vin Diesel and a few others.

1. Yes, I am absolutely wrong about it being a women's college first.
2. According to Wikepedia (pardon my spelling) it was founded in 1963! Yes, there were clubs, which met and finally they gained some land from Merton college. But the actual founding year is 1963.

I agree with Nath and a few other sensible people here. Every time I come to these celebrity gossip blogs it’s like diving into some surrealistic alternative universe. In the real world, Mr. Spacey is a decent man, deeply respected by those who actually get to know him, very charismatic and idealistically dedicated to his artistic and cultural missions. He’s also a hard worker who has very little time left for his private life. All those wild stories anonymously spread on the internet are mere sick fantasy. Does Perez Hilton seriously think he would be chosen as a teacher by a prestigious Oxford college if there were any stain on his moral reputation?! Shame on Perez for initiating such an outpouring of gratuitous dirt.

As a matter of fact, there's a suspicious lot of people here claiming they had a peronal experience with Spacey, or have a friend who… yada yada yada. So unlikely, when you compare these comments to those that follow other articles. From which I draw the conclusion that Spacey attracts a lot more psychos and mythomaniacs than any other actor. This comes as no surprise, given the characters he played on screen (especially Keyser Soze in "Usual suspects" and John Doe in "Seven"). But I'm afraid the real Spacey is not so "romantic".

Look, pal, this is just insane! Spacey is not and has never been a child molester! And the well-informed people know for a fact he's NOT GAY! But the rumours die hard, and just because he's so decent, discreet and private drives the gay-bashers and other haters crazy. The more he resists the pressure for publicising his private life, the worse the fantasies and insinuations get over the years.
That man was under no suspicion (gay or else) before he won his first Oscar for The Usual Suspects. Now the likes of Perez Hilton are suggesting he might be a paedophile, and they'll find gullible people like you to believe it and spread that incredible rumour all over the internet!

If I were you, I should remove at once this libellous article about Spacey. It's something to think and write someone is gay (even if, as it appears in Spacey's case, it's untrue). It's a whole different thing to falsely accuse someone of being a paedophile.

Perez Hilton doesn't know what he's talking about. Mr Spacey has been giving masterclasses and nurturing young talents for years at the Old Vic (I've been one of them), alongside his close partner Kate Pakenham. Never ever would anyone have suspected him of any reprehensible behaviour towards his young drama students – boys or girls. He's a wonderful teacher and a great man, very warm and human to everybody around him. God, this is so outrageous it borders on lunacy!
Spacey is hands down the best actor today, anywhere.

I use to travel quite a lot to London for my work. As I use to stay at the Lambeth road Novotel, not far away from the Old Vic, I often spend time at the Pit bar (good food and wines there). I never was lucky enough to meet Spacey, but one day I had dinner next to 6 members of the theatre staff and I couldn't help listening to their conversation. At one point they were talking about Spacey's "very close" relationship with a certain Kate, and how infatuated he was with her, etc. None of them would allude to that gay thing, I can tell you. Apparently it takes landing on the gay propaganda sites like this one to hear of it.

it is SCARILY true… i sat next to him and his "guest" at a broadway show… the "guest" was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much younger than him and got selected to join the actors on stage… i was MORTIFIED… kevin was in a dream world… while this child "performed"… it just felt so funny seeing them walk out of the theater… as isaac mizrahi (of ALL people) invited them to a party.. tooo funny!!!
