Tim Russert has just passed away.

The Meet The Press host suffered a heart attack on Friday, his family has said.

He was just 58.

Russert was at work at the NBC Studios in Washington, D.C., today when he was struck with cardiac arrest. He was unable to recover.

So sad.

Our condolences to his family on this very tragic and sudden loss.

Watched Meet the Press EVERY WEEK. So sad that he won't see the results of the most historic presidential election of our time. He was a ball buster, but fair interviewer…and some of you don't even know who he is.

Tim Russert was an honest hard working American that actually cared about the world around him for him and his family and for the rest of the world too! He treated everyone fair and will be a big loss in the news and political arenas. He talked and treated everyone with respect and dignity. More people would do good to take a lesson from him on how grace and humility work. I can't believe some of the posts on this site. You people make yourself look completely ignorant or should I say are obviously very ignorant.

You are not "struck with cardiac arrest"…you are in cardiac arrest….and "he was not able to recover"…you don't recover from cardiac arrest…you are revived via electric shock or CPR. In trying to sound eloquent you sound ignorant, as always…..that being said…THIS was a man to admire, learn from, look up to, now weep for…everything your not, Mario…listen and learn…some people are worth their salt…some aren't worth the clothes they're selling at Hot Topic….rest in peace, Tim…we'll miss you.

I can't believe he has passed on. He was a towering strength in his industry and helped American understand the political process…very iconic. He always good things to say about our hometown, Buffalo…he will be missed quite a bit. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family.

    314

The psychopaths at Fox News are allowed live another day to spew hate and vile comments like calling Michelle Obama "Obama's Baby Mama"—disgusting and not something they would EVER say to a conservative– NO comments about McCain and his sordid past….and this non-biased, intelligent, savvy, humorous, direct, real newscaster was struck down at 58.

    There is no God.

And some of you with your vile comments are the perfect example of shit walking. Does it make you feel better about your sad life to make such crude comments? Think about how it feels when your little schoolchums call you freak or loser or pig…and you KNOW they all do. Or maybe you're one of the assholes saying those things? Whatever. Enjoy your bitterness now before it comes and kicks your ass.

This historical 2008 presidential will not be the same without this sweet, and wonderful mans input. He brought thoughtful attentions to debates and asked the questions we wanted to hear, better than we could have asked them.

Thank you for all you did Mr. Russert, you will be dearly missed.

He didn't get the job he had for not sucking up to Bush. Look how fat he was! He was happy cashing the fat paychecks and chowing down tons of food.

  40. FReal says – reply to this

    340

All you people who are saying how nice he was and how much you loved him are delusional liars. He was yet another loud-mouthed Irish Catholic bigot, one of many who fill up tv and newspaper space spewing their biased crap round the clock and controlling politics in this country. I didn't wish him dead, but I am glad that's one less on television telling people what to think. Don't cry too hard, you still have Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, Maureen Dowd, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Peggy Noonan and on and on ad nauseum!

SUNDAY MORNINGS WILL NOT BE THE SAME. I OFTEN THOUGHT THAT TIM RUSSERT KNEW MORE ABOUT POLITICS THAN THE POLITICOS HE INTERVIEWED. IT'S LIKE LOSING A FRIEND. I LOST MY FAVORITE JOURNALIST. SO HARD WORKING. SO INTENSE AND DEDICATED TO THE TRUTH….NO MATTER WHAT THE POLITICAL AFFILIATION WAS. HIS SON JUST GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE…AND FATHER'S DAY IS COMING.

I'm so very sorry for his family's loss. Did anyone out there read the book about him and his dad? You should. Grow up folks and realize the value of family while they are still around. Both of my parents are dead and I'm miss them terribly every day. I'm only 40 and my only child has NO grandparents on either side. Get your head out of your asses generation "what ever the fuck" and be polite, engaging. and appreciative of whatever your elders can offer. Otherwise, you WILL regret it one day. Condolences to the Russert family.
