Re: Lisa – why not both? He had a heart attack that lead to cardiac arrest…..your comment makes no sense.
wow that is incredibly unexpected. he was so young
Wow. This is very shocking and sad for the news world. He seemed like such a nice, down to earth guy. So sad to see a life ended so young. My condolences go out to his family. NBC won't be the same without you, Tim!!
RIP, Shocking!!! he was actually my fave journalist/reporter beside Jorge Ramos. We will miss him.
Ah…Who will ask Barack Obama softball questions and coddle him now that Tim is gone….Only hundreds more pundits and talking heads.
My condolences to his wife and son. He was truly an even keeled journalist. He will be missed greatly.
god bless. love ya Tim. such a great guy.
You won't remember alot of big things in your life……..but will always remember the small things.
When you had to save up your money to buy something you really wanted
When your dog died
When you got busted for doing something stupid at school
Whether Obama or Mc Cain won as President
When Tim Russert died……….you will never forget that…….MTP will never ever be the same…….nor will we - with him gone.
I almost don't care anymore who wins…without TR and his whiteboard!
You under 25's need to know that there is a plan to this life - find it-follow it- live it-do it-love it and ask……..What would Tim Do? What would Tim Think about that?
God's waiting for you will eternal life………..RIP RIP RIP RIP
i watch cnn all the time, other then my local news, cnn is great, and tim was a great man, grat jounalist. my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
so the retards in his office were trying to resus him with a mask only, and no one was jumping on his chest ? what the fuck is the matter wih you americans ? ever heard of proper CPR . shit for brains race !
so sad!!! Meet the Press was the first thing I/we (my husband and I) turned on, on Sunday morning!!! I am heartbroken!!!!
All that money and he couldn't afford a 300 buck heart scan to show plaque in his heart? That wasn't a very smart decision on his part. It takes 20 years to build up plaque like that in the arteries- he probably ignored the signs. BUT I'd sure like to know who his doctor is if they didn't send him for a scan at his age and weight.
so sad!!! Meet the Press was the first thing I/we (my husband and I) turned on, on Sunday morning!!! I am heartbroken!!!!
Re: KJ – Olbermann is a douche who was fired from ESPN for being an idiot and an arrogant prick. NO viewers liked him. so he moves to a so called news channel.
so sad!!! Meet the Press was the first thing I/we (my husband and I) turned on, on Sunday morning!!! I am heartbroken!!!! He was the standard for being a "man" among men!!! So honest and amazing!! Through his reporting, you would never know he was a Democrat!!! He was always fair and honest!!!!!! So sad he passed!!!! Even though I/we are republicans (we know Perez might think that is a character flaw, but we're republicans who are open minded…(gay marriage, etc)…….We always love and accept everyone for who they are!!!!!! Be yourself!! We and everyone love you!!!!!!XOXO
sad. just another example of why you should EAT WELL work out and LOSE WEIGHT!
Peace
BB
Re: brainy_blonde – We agree!!!!!! Be healthy, eat healthy, join the fight against heart disease……,however……Tim was still a great mind!!!!!
So sad and unexpected. Goes to show how short of a time we all have being alive on earth. Make peace with God and follow him, or this life will be all you have.
i am so sad &shocked relative to his death. tim was a man who stood for all that was good in this world. he came from simple beginnings & appreciated the people from buffalo ny who he credited for his success. he also loved & appreciated his father, a wwii veteran, who worked 2 jobs to support his family & send he & his siblings to catholic school. while we knew his politics were to the left, he was fair & fierce w/ everyone. tim was a class act. he knew he was blessed & never took his great life for granted. i know he touched so many people w/ his kindness, if i am sad & did not know him, i can only imagine how those who knew him feel right now. RIP TIM - I HOPE YOUR LEGACY WILL CONTINUE IN THOSE YOU MENTORED & LOVED.
aw man, how sad. he truly was a great guy. i met him once and he was nice in a genuine way. not nice because he had to be, but just because he was so.
he was te type of person who embodied such a down-home friendliness yet straight talking manner. he had a lot of wisdom, intelligence and insight to offer us, and i am upset on a personal level for the loss the world experienced today.not because of the one time i met him, but because he was such a familiar, comforting figure, and a trustworthy one at that. there are so few good people left, and he was and will always remain among the good.
may the four winds blow home safely home and may his family find comfort and peace.
this blows. meet the press was the one show i never missed. you people who are all "who" and "who cares" don't know about politics or anything but gay lindsay. i like i love new york a bunch, but tim russert talked about serious things in simple english for the public benefit and at his passing was the world's most important journalist. everyone who had serious power in the united states or wanted it sat in a chair on tv to get grilled by him. tim busted his ass at his job despite being a bit of a fat bastard and apparently paid a price. i can't imagine news without him.
All of you Buffalo born and bred people out there: Don't forget where you came from. Be proud of our city! The ones you left behind are doctors, lawyers, lifters, mail carriers- and you KNOW this is the place where we ALL hang together, everyone has the same right to be alive as the next person. Don't forget the neighborhoods, your neighbors, the holidays, the weekends that are all about the Bills and what's on sale at Tops. The simple life. We've still got it here. It's still the same. We still have a thriving arts community. We still have huge Victorians for under 200 grand and capes for 70 grand.
Just don't forget where you came from. And don't watch The Wire- it will remind you of home
.
This is a real man—–who cares who gets aquitted on child porn charges, something like that does not happen to people who live their life to a higher standard. Condoloences to his family.
Sunday mornings won't be the same without Russert on Meet The Press!
He is my idol. He will be greatly missed.
What a shock and tragic loss to America journalism …… He was the BEST at what he did…no one compares….I always enjoyed his reporting and interviews….he seemed like such a great human being….everyone talked so highly of him…..So sad…you always ask …Why?….Prays and Strength to his family in this sad time. … The election coverage just won't be the same in November without Tim Russert.
Thanks for the kind words, Perez. He meant a lot to my (and his) hometown of Buffalo, NY and we're all really feeling his loss. We appreciate it!
Perez had this first because the Television Broadcasters and journalist have an agreement not to broadcast deaths of collegues untill the family have been notified…see below
"In accordance with American journalistic tradition, the public announcement of Russert's death was withheld by both the wire services and his network's competitors.[21] After Russert's family had been notified, retired NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw delivered, live on NBC, CNBC and MSNBC, the news of his passing"
Who the fuck is this pedophile looking mother fucker?
Perez why is this guy even important?
Although Mr Russet may have had several health problems some of which are caused by weight and contributed to his death coronary pulmonary disease the more important point is that life is short and tomorrow is not promised to us. The most important things in life are not money and prestige and fame but friends and family and whatever faith you may choose to practice. Rest in peace Mr Russert condolences to your loyal loving wife Maureen and your son. You are an example of class and generosity to us all
I saw the news today, and read some of this comment. How could some of you be so cruel. His son just lost his hero, and his wife just lost her soulmate. Shame on you. Tim Russert did political analysis like no other. Meet the Press was and is one of the best Sunday moning political shows. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May god keep them in his tender care and May Mr Tim Russert rest in peace.
i never watched his show.
Re: kay –
WHO THE FUCK R U. A PATHETIC BITCH THINKING YOUR FUNNY TALKING SHIT ABOUT A GREAT PERSON. YOU MAY NOT LIKE HIM, BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE RESPECT FOR HIS FAMILY AND THE DEAD. SADLY, PEOPLE WITH LITTLE RESPECT FOR THEMSELVES RARELY SHOW RESPECT 4 OTHERS.
RIP Tim Russert…..the political world will never be the same without you….
Chauncy
what loved about him morethan anything is the love and the respect he had for his father and son .he was truly the best at his job and good human being rest in peace tim .and to the people who saying who cares why don't you drop dead you assholes
I am still in shock about this.. Didn't really care for Meet the Press, but he was sooooo into the election this year. You could see it in his face as soon as he was on air he was ALL ABOUT it.. Such a shame he didn't survive long enough to see the outcome of a historical, political year!! Very sad, shocking news…

I really liked and respected this guy. I would watch his show and he always seemed to be strightforward and fair in his reporting on any topic. I will miss this man. To all his family, and friends my thoughts and condolences are with you.
NUMBER 4 YOU CAN SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID DOUCHEBAG! HOW DARE YOU INSULT SOMEONE LIKE THIS! HE WAS A GREAT MAN WITH WONDERFUL IDEAS AND GREAT ENTHUSIASM CONCERNING THIS ELECTION. HOW DARE YOU AND OTHER PEOPLE OFFEND THIS MAN. he was an amazing person and i am so incredibly sad that he has passed away.

Re: suz – WHAT THE FUCK is WRONG with you. You are a jerk who probably had low self-esteem and NO friends. SHAME on YOU. I really hope you learn how to be nicer. It would do you some good.
I will miss his commentary. He seemed like a great guy. Very enthusiastic. Educated, smart. He will be missed. God bless his soul, and may his family know that many people thought highly of Tim and all his amazing achievements.
