everyone blames nick…was it his fault his friend didn't buckle up??? his friend probably would've been saved from a vegetative state if he wore his seatbelt. yeah, nick was driving and i hope he learns his lesson from his stupidiness but it's not ALL his fault. buckle up people!

I agree that no one forced John into the vehicle and that both were intoxicated and that Nick was racing his vehicle on a public road. I think what is horribly sad is that John came out of this a vegetable and instead of the Hogan family showing any remorse about the horrible situation, we only hear about their "supposed" inconvenience. I have never heard anything from the Hogan family like "we are so destroyed about John's health situation", or that "we thank God Nick is alive". If there was some sort of idea that they were concerned to the public, we might have a different opinion. All we hear about is how poor Nick is uncomfortable in jail, or how his mother is screwing around with a younger man. I think Nick should be thankful that he doesn't have to live in a diaper the rest of his life. And because of all this? The Veterans Administration is probably footing the bill for his hospitalization. I know John is a veteran, but this situation was created by the hands of a 17 year old drunk who was driving and breaking the law.

Not to be totally insensitive, but this John guy is just as much to blame for the life he is now living. He is a big boy and decided to get in the car with Nick perhaps knowing that Nick was impared and what kind of a driver he was. I agree that Nick should serve his time quietly and that he is lucky he is not injured, but I don't understand why everyone thinks that John is not partly to blame as well.

There is no way that Nick will ever be able to do enough to atone for what he's done. However, instead of whining about where he's at he could start focusing on how he could take this experience and do something with it to make a positive difference in the world. To know that he is apparently without remorse or regret while his best friend lies in a vegetative state and is appalling to say the least. He got much too light of a sentence. I can't imagine the frustration and heartache the Graziano family must be feeling as they tend so lovingly to their son while seeing Nick's smug face on TV. This story really highlights the unfairness of some of our laws. To the Graziano family, I send you my heartfelt sympathy and best wishes; to the Hogan family, I hope that some day you will wake up and realize just how selfish and pathetic a bunch you really are.

My sister-in-law was in a horrendous car accident that left her in the same state. Her accident was 2 years ago.

Seriously, people need to get over the blame game. Yes, it's a tradgedy that happened but you should look at reality. Nick was drunk but what was John's alcohol level? I agree. It's sad what happened, but it was an ACCIDENT. Perez and a lot of people are making it out like the whole thing was intentional, that Nick set out to crash his car and turn his friend into a vegetable. Sure Nick's complaining is annoying, but it's JAIL. Everyone in jail complains about being there and the conditions. I'm sure if Perez and everyone else on here saying he should suck it up were in jail they'd all be complaining too. But it wouldn't be broadcast on the news for the world to see and pass judgment and condemn them to the firery pits of hell because we're nobodies (except maybe Perez but even his fame is limited).

It was his responsibility to put it on and unfortunately I know a lot of idiots that drive or passenger without it on. Yes Nick was driving and yes he effed up royally but that kid should have put his seatbelt on…that was his own fault. The Hogans can't be blamed for that. It was a tragic accident and I'm sure if he could, Nick would either trade places or take it all back.

Has Nick even done anything at all for John? Does he have any kind of remorse, because every time I have seen him since this accident he hasn't acted sad upset or remorseful at all. If I did something so stupid that put my friend in the position John was in, I would be devestated & I would be in the hospital every day of my life doing whatever I could for him & his family.

If he's so religious he should know that we are all given free will to make choices, good or bad. We are the choices we make!

I think that by putting this immature boy in jail isn't the answer. I think that people that do these crimes should serve their time in those facilities and help care and look after the victims of terrible accidents. Anything (including being anally raped) in jail could not even begin to compare with what this poor boy is going through. I find it hard to believe that I am actually going to defend Nick Hogan, but as an adult, who has served his country, Graziano got into a car, that he obviously KNEW would be participating in street racing (He IS(WAS) friends with Nick and knew of his penchant for racing) how hard is it to put in a seat belt, or to just say, I am not riding with you if you drive like that? Everyone wants someone to blame after something bad happens, but really, most times you can only blame yourself. I have a friend who was permanently injured while attempting "car surfing" - he now is both mentally and physically impaired, however, he was not FORCED to do what he did to get injured. We all make decisions in this life and when we participate in dangerous/stupid activities, people get injured, even killed. I think that the punishment is this case was WAY to harsh and unwarranted. When are people going to start to take responsibility for their own actions? It is sad that this kid is now in a vegatative state, but essentially he put himself in that position.

So, I thought of a BRILLIANT idea…this jerk needs to be sent back to solitary confinement…BUT here's the twist…there should be a BIG OLE' video screen showing 24 hours a day a live streaming video of his friend…in his hospital bed: All the procedures he goes through, the pain, the suffering, the horror of the experience, JUST so he can realize the error of his ways, and REALIZE that being in solitary confinement for a measly 8 months, is NOTHING to the poor, sad life he has now created for his friend.

It isn't an accident to drink and drive; it isn't an accident to get into a car with a person that has been drinking and not buckle up; and it isn't an accident to buy your under-aged son alcohol. Whatever happened to responsibility? I saw Hulk Hogan's feeble attempt at damage control on Larry King and realized how selfish and self-centered this guy really is. He should be charged with contributing to the accident since he is on video tape buying his son the alcohol at the liquor store. No charges have been filed against Hulk Hogan because Nick was "under the legal limit," but he was definately impaired. This is a sad commentary on the legal system and how it really comes down to who you know and how much money you have.
Regardless of who is more to blame, the fact still remains that there are legal consequences to actions you pursue. I don't think Nick is a horrible person - he's a typical teenage boy who made a big mistake. One young man's life is essentially over and the person driving the car is the one who is responsible for it - end of story. He should just do his time (all of it) quietly out of the limelight and hopefully he will come out of prison a little bit wiser and little more humble.

Rape isn't an accident jackass. There is nothing unintentional in one person using consciously and deliberately using their power to physically and often violently force someone into unwanted sexual acts and intercourse.
I feel so bad for his friend. One minute he is just a regular person, now he is severely brain damaged. It's just so sad.

Bolth parties were at fault in this accident, John being the adult should not have allowed nick to drive, should never had gotten in the car and should have been wearing his seatbelt. The fact ramains though nick was driving. If john was wearing his seatbelt(as per what his OWN doctor has said) he would still be a functional adult and not a vegtable. I feel for bolth parties about the whole situation but bolth parties WERE AT FAULT( to play the victim card by johns family really is pathetic)
