Why have Americans & Brits taken over the Canadian term "cougar" to mean any older woman with a younger man? The term started here (thanks to Dan Akroyd) to mean an older woman that can compete physically with a younger woman, for a younger man. That means they look just as "hot" and have experience on their side. Overweight & rich does not qualify you as a cougar, no matter how young the boys you date are. The boys have to want you in the same way they'd go for a young hottie. This is the authentic explanation. Having a T-top '79 Camaro is a plus!
