Agreed. Back in the 80s rap and hip hop stood for something and had great rhymes, and you could either dance to it or holler with it. Now I can't even bear to listen to the crap out there. It's such a joke. Bring back the Old School Rappers. Public Enemy, Erik B and Rakim, Tribe Called Quest, Snoop, EPMD, even Run DMC had it right.

The only reason that soulja boy is popular is because the industry is geared towards hip hop at the moment. These "songs" are used in night clubs/dance clubs where everyone is completely trashed and repetitiveness is the only thing that keeps them bumpin and grindin'. it's all about business. No one cares anymore about the expressive lyrics and the creative poetic rhythm that original rap or hip hop had to offer. if your young, black and can clap in time with a little bit ambition, you can be a hip hop "artist" too. This shit almost discredits all the original rappers to uneducated ears. Those who were skeptical before are even more so. Those rappers paved the way for these "hip hop artists" and the industry has let them down miserably. It's a sad day for rap.
