England Has BANNED Martha Stewart!

Filed under: Anglophilia > Wacky, Tacky & True > Legal Matters > Martha Stewart

amarthas.jpg

File this under WTF?

The queen of crudité, Martha Stewart, has been refused entry into England!

The reason?

Because of her criminal convictions four years ago for obstructing justice.

Shizz, Martha did her prison time and paid her 'debt' to society.

Why the eff should that be held against her?

Martha was reportedly planning to speak at the Royal Academy and to hold meetings with several figures in the fashion and leisure industry.

A spokesperson for the jack of all crafty trades said, "Martha loves England and hopes this can be resolved and that she will be able to visit soon."

A British government official has said, "It is a bit silly given some of the other people allowed into the country."

The UK Border Agency said it would not comment on individual cases.

A spokesman went on to say, "We continue to oppose the entry to the UK of individuals where we believe their presence in the United Kingdom is not conducive to the public good or where they have been found guilty of serious criminal offences abroad."

Martha not 'conducive' to the 'public good'?

Ha!!!!

I'm wondering how long it is til Perez learns the difference between England and Britain…!!!Your headline should read "BRITAIN has banned Martha Stewart" Come on, Perez!!! If you love the UK so much, at least learn when to use 'Britain' in the correct context!!! So annoying…

thats what she deserves, everyday people with criminal records are discriminated against everyday even AFTER they have paid their debt to society i.e., J_O_B_S!!!

A THEIF IS A THIEF. A LIAR IS A LIAR. A CRIMINAL IS A CRIMINAL. JUST BECAUSE SHE HAS MONEY, THAT MAKES HER NO BETTER THAN THE DRUG DEALER THAT STEALS YOUR TELEVISION. WE DON'T WANT HER IN CANADA EITHER. STAY OUT, MARTHA.

    111

oh PLEASE reconsider and let Martha go to England. Just make sure you keep her there!!!!!!!

  12. Boom says – reply to this

    112

hey Perez, pull your head out of your ass.
The USA will NOT let someone in your country when they have been convicted of a crime, so why the hell do you think another country should let in a US citizen, who was convicted of a crime into their country?
Just cause they are a star?

  13. Da says – reply to this

    113

U.S. doesnt let anyone with even 1 small criminal record like shop lifting…. So UK's decision is right.

Most western countries will deny entry to a person with a criminal conviction. As has been mentioned many times, why should this woman be treated any differently because she is well known and has money? In fact, border security has become tighter and tighter since America's self-proclaimed "war on terror". My father is a regular traveller and said that getting through customs at JFK airport made Heathrow a picnic. Nowhere else has he ever been subjected to being finger-printed, nor the rudeness and endless waiting around. Before you start criticizing other countries, do your research and find out what's going on in your own back yard.

  15. Agnet says – reply to this

    115

Well to be fair, your government does the same thing. Russell Brand who is currently in theatres with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, had a lot of trouble going through the airport when he arrived here for the filming. He has a history of abuse, but it's been several years since he's been clean. He was almost denied visa and he had a body search conducted on him.

Damn right she should be kept out, along with all the other convicts. Its law. She's had enough special treatment.

    Total rubbish!

Doesn't Amy Winehouse live in the UK?? Hah!
Lot's of crazies out there, starting with the UK Border Agency. (doesn't that sound like a made up agency??)

  19. 119

bites huh, that GB is doing what the US has been doing for years… hypocrites.

  20. AnThO says – reply to this

    120

SHE IS STILL A CRIMINAL THEREFORE FUCK HER. so bt your terms its ok for a peadophile to molest someone and then do his time in jail and then do whatever he wants. fuck u perez

    121

It's refreshing to see countries who make laws that apply to EVERYONE even celebs…its sad how the states exempt famous people from everything like DUI's to murdering your wife

    GOOD!

    123

Now do you understand, Perez, why I hate these fucking limeys so much? Many don't realize that the American revolution is ongoing and that the Brit's reptillian queen and her vampire husband Prince Phillip are launching a financial war against the American middle clash through the banks and bankers based in the city of London. Trust me Perez, these limey bastards are evil and their island nation is quickly becoming a prison. Google the Downing Street Memo.

    124

It's not just England, it's the United Kingdom/Britain, Perez I think you're ace but don't feed the fuel of folk who refer to all British people as English and call the whole of the UK England!

  25. andy says – reply to this

    125

dumbass thats a normal law in every country against convicts, and america has it too, she should stop being a retard and apply to the british embassy before she travelled. silly cow!!

  26. andy says – reply to this

    126

Re: Jacqu – yeah but i bet he sorted things out before he left, you can get in if you have convictions, but there are processes that are to be followed, tyson would have had to do so, and martha ought to sack her manager

  27. andy says – reply to this

    127

Re: i Lov – amy winehouse is english idiot, of course she lives here, the only reason she can do tours across europe is because all uk residents have EU passports, otherwise she'd be pretty much confined to the UK

  28. @v@ says – reply to this

    128

Re: andy – Here, here. Ms. Martha perhaps thought she could slip through customs because of who she was, but as a convicted felon should have absolutely known she would need to apply to the British Embassy beforehand. Lol. She's only a clear and present danger to closet perfectionists hiding in the U.K., IMHO.

  29. Denis says – reply to this

    129

I live in the UK, yes its a bit stupid, but Brits arent let into the states if they have, certain criminal covictions, even really minor ones!!!!

  30. CA says – reply to this

    130

hey, you don't let Russell Brand in, we don't let Martha Stewart in. END OF x

  31. lisa says – reply to this

    131

Re: Lisa – You are so right. It looks like people don't know how hard it is to get in to the US. Do they know how stupid questions you have to answer beforeRe: kurwa – you are allowed to enter.

  32. 132

    Re: Trait
haha you probably are right about the royal family, but hey, every country has their flaws… your president is a fucking half wit redneck!

    133

i love martha. she is the only celebrity to actually ever DO jail time and what did she go and do make a fucking book and come out even fucking richer than she was before. hell yeah shes a clever little con artist and who the hell actually cares about stocks or fraud or whatever stupid shit she did that just proves how sheisty and smart she is and english bitches are just jealous! plus english people are pissy 24/7 cause the sound like pricks with their stupid accents

  34. david says – reply to this

    134

Have you tried getting into the US? Same in Australia too, we refuse entry to many people based on their criminal convictions.

  35. steph says – reply to this

    135

Bit rich really Perez, considering the US doesn't let in anyone with criminal charges against them and in some cases even those who have only been arrested (ie NOT CHARGED) for their crimes.

  36. Pete says – reply to this

    136

The USA doesn't allow entry to people with criminal records, so it works both ways.

  37. 137

US can keep her, we dont want her anyway haha

  38. Anya says – reply to this

    138

    you know what?
people from other contries all around the world, are not allowed to go in to the US, because they have had troubles with the law earlier.
they can´t even go there for a short vacation.

so, US is fucked up too you know…

    139

At the beginning of June, wasn't Mike Tyson spotted in a London hot-spot getting very friendly & then leaving with a glamour model??
Mike's rap sheet (felony rape conviction, felony charges for possession of narcotics & misdemenor charges for driving under the influence of drugs) is far worse than Ms. Stewart's "white collar" criminal record.
The powers-that-be in the U.K. would rather have sex-offender Tyson hanging out & "snogging" in their clubs than Martha showing the proper way to fold a dinner napkin. Go figure.

  40. Jason says – reply to this

    140

Well no one had ever HEARD of her in the UK until the prison business, and even know most people would not have a clue who she is - so no loss!
