United Front

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton

wenn1743522.jpg

In an effort to unite the Democratic Party, Barack Obama's campaign announced today that he will be campaigning with Hillary Clinton next week.

Yay!!!!!

The two senators will campaign together starting next Friday, June 27th.

The pair will also meet in Washington with some of Clinton's top contributors in an effort to try and calm donors who are still bothered by Obama's presidential campaign.

Few details are being released at the moment, though.

The news did come one day after Obama announced that he would reverse an earlier position and reject almost $85 million in public financing for the general election.

The announcement was received with a lot of criticism.

So, to draw the attention elsewhere, he made the announcement a week early about campaigning with Hillary.

Do U think Obama should have Hillary run as Vice President?

It's a proven fact, most people who vote democrat are uneducated, gay or union members. Uneducated make up the majority though.

Please get your facts straight by at least being informed. The only criticism of Obama's decision to opt-out of the public financing system is from the right wing attack machine. What a surprise - if the right was raising as much money as Obama, McCain would also opt out. Please keep your ignorant political views to yourself.

I want Obama to win just so they control the house, senate and presidency. My thinking is, they will have no one else to blame when they severely screw things up. After 4 years of that, it will be another 16 years of conservative rule. Don't you fools realize why Democrats rarely get elected to the Presidency? The arent fit to run a lemonaid stand on main street.

I agree, Democrats are the biggest racists. The biggest form of racism is not treating people equally. I'll put my skills against anyones. I don't need an unfair advantage. I wish more of my people felt the same way. It's ironic most black people don't vote for republicans, the party who set them free.

Hell yes Hillary should run! Together they would fix a lot of bullshit mistakes Bush made. On top of that, they would be making History. I'm sure that there are people in this country (namely wife beating klansmen in the South) that are freaking out right now. That kinda makes me worry about their safety when they need to go to those areas. There are some fucked up people in this world.

WHY IS AMERICA SO SCARED OF THE REST OF THE WORLD? Have you done something to upset someone? The rest of us are friends and play nicely. It's a shame your RETARDED Republicans keep you in the "special school" and you cannot play nice with the rest of the world.

We have to act in our best interest. BTW, though, I'm not voting for McCain this election, but it's not over is stance on the war (that's the only position of his I liked), it's because he's too liberal. I'm leaving the presidency space 'blank'. I live in California where there's know way he'll win anyway. It's my way of protesting him as the candidate. My pony was Fred Thompson. This election doesn't excite me at all now. It's a lose lose proposition for me.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!! I really think that while they are opposites in many ways and that it would be hard for the Cliintons to take a back seat to someone else, especially somewhat of a political novice, a Obama/Clinton ticket would have a LANDSLIDE victory in November. Obama will win anyway, but having Clinton on the ticket will really seal the victory.

I am a life long democrat, but will have to VOTE McCain!, there's too much at stake. Even if a small percentage of what is said about Obama is true, we cannot afford to take a chance. America is too precious! Democrate or not, I would NEVER vote for ANYONE who REFUSED to say the "Pledge of Alegence". Not to mention, someone who has ADMITTED to Using and Selling Drugs. Obama is for change alright…The DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T LET IT HAPPEN!!!!

  41. 541

Personally, I feel that Obama can't win without her.

Most people in Canada (that I know, at least) kind of pretend that McCain isn't really there. Because he was singled out earlier, he's had considerably less media coverage. It's probably why many people felt that the real race was between Obama and Clinton. Canada's a younger country, so we're probably inclined to support a "youthful" candidate.

And the reason why we care so much about who wins is that it affects us, too!

In your 20's in your 30's, hell I'm 58 years old with 2 college degrees and 42 years of work experience. I marched against the Vietnam War in 1968 and I've been just appalled at this latest murderous conflict in Iraq. "Experience" showed me from the beginning, this was another monumental mistake and reality has proven my instincts correct. A "staged" conflict with no basis in fact for the ruination of a country, 4000+ American lives lost, tens of thousands of INNOCENT Iraqis killed and hundreds of billions wasted on death & destruction. So don't go crowing about your "heart & experience", you don't get one without the other. This country is finally waking up to the horrible reality of the Bush administration and we don't want it to continue seamlessly into a McCain term to carry on the same politics as usual. I for one am looking forward to a REAL change from the status quo.

Wow! You sound like a hoot to be around. So bitter and defensive! When you were in your 20's, you didn't have heart or common sense? How sad for you.

Just for the record "heart and experience" are hardly synonymous. I am as well a college graduate and am well on my way earning my doctorate in Political Science. Again, since you haven't given me the courtesy of being civil, I'm going to have a little fun with you.To be so old, so foolish and to be that liberal is beyond the pale and your views on the war are bordering delusional. I picture you as a crusty, old hippie with a McGovern bumper sticker still stuck to your bumper. Oh wait! Now it's covered by an Obama '08, because he's for CHANGE!

You can bother to write back, but I can pretty much guarantee that I'll win and I'll be amused by any argument you throw out there.

Thank you, however, for making my arguments for me. I just love the fact that you're a 58 year old woman on a gossip site picking on someone half your age.

No. Hillary Clinton was extremely divisive (gender and race) during her campain. She continued campaining even though she was already in debt and now she is pressuring Obama (through her support) to pay off her debt. Why didn't her supporters helped her finacially thru donations like Obama's did. She voted for the war in Iraq; and now that the war is unpopular she's against it. She is not trustworthy. She is power hungry.
