Just about every movie that Justin Timberlake has starred in has bombed.
This is no exception!
In a battle at the box office on Friday night, the Mike Meyers/Justin flick was ass slapped - hard by Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway.
J.T.'s Love Guru is expected to take in a disastrous $14 million in America this weekend, whereas Anne and Steve's Get Smarth is projected to make $40 million.
That's a major whooping!

Sort of strange to blame JT for this one…all the bad reviews I've read (and there are many) all point fingers at Mike Myers.
I thought Jesssica Alba WAS the POISON, that girl sucks and you could not drag me to anything w/ her init!!
So now you hate Justin Timberlake too? He's been in some very good movies that weren't all about the numbers. He has a supporting role in this Mike Meyers vehicle, so how can he be to blame for lower-than-expected box office?

I don't think it's Justin. The movie just looked plain stupid. And with ticket prices at $10…there's no way I would pay to see such crap. I love Justin, that was the only draw for the movie. Plus, no one of the up and coming generation cares about Mike Meyers unless he's lending his voice to shrek. I vote it's Mike Meyers fault.
Oh yeah, cuz Shrek 3 bombed??? He hasn't been in many movies, but so far I've liked all the ones I've seen. Alpha Dog, Southland Tales, Black Snake Moan and I know I'm going to see this this weekend. Most of his movies where he's had big roles have been low-budget too, and those never do that well to begin with. Methinks you are jealous of those who are better-looking and more talented.

Alba never had any acting skills. She was only popular because she had some big titties, but now guys aren't as attracted to her since she's depressed and popping out babies.

Don't think it has anything to do with JT - think it has to do with Alpha Dog, for example being too much of a "small movie" with a relatively unknown cast, and "The Love Guru" getting such weak reviews. But if TLG got in 2nd place, I wouldn't call it bombing Perez

Justin was on a lot of shows lately to promote the movie as if he is the lead. I couldn't stand watching him. I was like "man! you ruined the movie for me. It doesn't sound like a good movie anymore because you are in it."

I didn't go see this movie because Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba were in it. (They probably thought with these two in it, it would be a big hit..but it went the other way.) I hate to say it, but pretty much all of Jessica Alba's movies have sucked. If she's in it, you know to turn the other way. The only movie that I can think of that she's been in that I even found enjoyable was "Never Been Kissed."
As for JT don't think I've even seen any of his movies…well except for "Model Behavior," back in the day when I was a young teen on TV. And the only movie I was interested in seeing of his is "Black Snake Moan," but that's about it. Even "Shrek 3," though I enjoyed it didn't even come close to the first 2 movies which were pure classics to be down the road in my opinion.

I went to see the movie yesterday and it was sooooo STUPID and NOT FUNNY that I left after about 30 minutes and got my money back. Justin was actually very good. Mike Myers on the other hand was vile and NOT FUNNY.

Timberlake is a singer, not an actor. He just needs to face that fact. That being said, I don't think the movie's failure is his fault. You have to remember that Jessica Alba is in this, and she couldn't act to save her life. Not to mention that it looks horribly unfunny, so it probably is.

I saw The Love Guru yesterday and it was tres forgetable. Somewhere between Austin Powers2 and Austin Powers 3 on a scale of funniness, but one of the brighter spots was Justin Timberlake, he played his role without any vanity, with pale skin, a big, un-flattering moustache, and big, ugly hair, and I thought he was hilarious. Given the material he was given, I think he did swell. He is not overexposed, and chooses well when to do a role, it is just a matter of time before he gets one that is a winner. Love that boy!!
