The U.S. Attorney's office has filed a motion demanding that Wesley Snipes surrender himself to police custody.
They disagree with a Florida judge's decision to let the actor out on bail while he appeals his tax charges.
Snipes was found guilty and sentenced to three years in jail for not paying his taxes for several years.
He still owes millions of dollars!
The judge felt Wesley was not a flight risk, but that doesn't seem to be good enough for the feds.
"We want him in custody," said Steve Cole, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office. "He's been convicted by a jury. He has been sentenced to three years and he should be in custody."
Now's the time to hop on a flight to somewhere tropical and far far away, Wesley!

soo im not the hugest fan of snipes,i understand that its an extreme violation if you dont pay your taxes….but what i dont get is paris hilton goes to jail for less than 3 months for a DUI and people are freaking out over this whole situation….
Wesley Snipes looks pretty good here. I've never paid any attention to him, but he is actually a pretty good looking guy. Hope he is able to pay, do his time, get out of this mess, and most importantly: don't repeat it.

Re: danic – I can understand your reasoning, but in reality tax evasion of a much, much bigger crime than a DUI. Drunk drivers, as everyone knows, are very dangerous, but it is the people's taxes that fund this entire country. You let one slip through the cracks, and soon you have another, and another, and another. The US (and all other countries, for that matter) must have their tax dollars to function. The Gov't will show no mercy to anyone who doesn't pay up. And that includes locking little old men and ladies in jails.

Now that the IRS has sentenced Mr. Snipes when is the IRS going after the 20 million illegal immigrants who are not filing taxes.
What about their violating the US Census laws and not providing info to the US government too?
When those unaccounted show up at schools and medical facilites that have been allocated US tax monies according to the US Census causes everyone who has been counted to lose benefits for now they have to share their part with those who are unaccounted.
Our country, the U.S., has lost it's mind. We will let a murdering husband go free, time and time again (not enough evidence or some ridiculous loop-hole). YET we want to put a MOVIE STAR in prision for THREE YEARS for tax evasion???!!!! We are SO F**king stupid. He had an accountant. I have had one for 6 years. They're paid to do the job! His stole from him. This whole story just pisses me off. Of course we are responsible for our actions, which is why he has to pay the gov. back (he just gave them one-quarter of what's due; 5 million). But PRISON?! All of his "TAX" money is going to the "war" in the name of OIL. So let's lock him up for 3 years and WASTE millions on the total cost of putting him in prison for that long…The hypocrisy is killing me.
