George Carlin has passed away.
Shit! Piss! Fuck! Cunt! Cocksucker! Motherfucker! Tits!
The legendary comedian was admitted to Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday and died later that evening of heart failure.
Carlin had a history of heart problems and drug dependency.
He was 71 years old.

This makes me incredibly sad. He was a huge part of my teen years and I am such a fan. His Filthy Words album is the only comedy album I ever bought. The man was brilliant. A legend. He will be sorely missed. This is just sooooo sad.

It's very sad! I bet you all didn't know that he was the narrators voice on the PBS classic show "Thomas the Tank Engine. My sons watch it every Saturday and Sunday. Great Kids show and a wonderful contribution to children everywhere. My thought are with him and his family.

Some of these posts are actually quite fitting since Mr. Carlin spent most of his career observing and commenting on the stupidity of humans - he'd get a real eye-full here. RIP George - love his comparison of baseball and football - hilarious - spot-on - and amazingly, I don't think he swears!!! Wait, what?!

This is killin' me. I grew up in the 70's and my family was very left-wing…I actually grew up listening to his albums etc.. with my brother who was much older then me. It really feels like a piece of my childhood is gone, and we've all lost a true comic genuis. No one made me laugh harder while taking a closer look at myself in the process.
RIP, George. We lost a great one today. "Braindroppings" is one of my favorite books ever… "I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed."
Also: To whoever ripped Perez about mentioning George's "history of dependency": He went into rehab four years ago to help with addictions to Vicodin and alcohol. So, yes, he did have a history.

OMG The world has lost a great comic genius. His sarcisism about life and how people would take lt to seriously was brilliant. He will be missed. His voice as the conductor on Thomas the train was wonderful. My two year old grandson loves Thomas the train. He made me laugh especially about the seven words.. Classic comic genius. He is now making God and the angels laugh. May Mr George Carlin rest in peace.

That is so sad. I just read this and I am still a little shocked. I loved him! He always made you laugh by telling the truth. Irreplaceable.
Saw him in Chicago 4 yrs. ago- absolutely almost pissed my pants. In this world of great political-correctness, he was a relief to us who needed it. He genuinely cared about people who came and saw his shows. And yes- he made fun of everybody but truly cared about good people…
