George Carlin has passed away.

The legendary comedian was admitted to Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday and died later that evening of heart failure.
Carlin had a history of heart problems and drug dependency.
He was 71 years old.

I put George Carlin with the great Frank Zappa, the non-conformists of society and told it like it is. I had the pleasure to see George in concert many years ago. The man was hillarious and I will miss him. My prayers go to his family.
just sat next to him at restaurant 2 weeks ago. he was doing an interview and was so wise and FUNNY of course. seemed in great health. He treated the reporter so kindly and was truly open and engaging and intelligent. if only more celebs would be like him! his genius will be missed!

I loved George Carlin! I can't believe he's gone. Just on Saturday we had ordered a bunch of his shows from Netflix. We were talking about how great he is. He will be sorely missed. There was never any one else like him. What are we going to do without him and Bill Hicks??

I woke my sister up with this story. We both cried on the phone. Its amazing how someone you have never know, but grew up with on the tv every other night can impact you. God bless you George Carlin and his family. For those brief nights, you made us forget our troubles and laugh the tears away. I hope you and Brenda (his wife who died 11 yrs ago) rest in peace.

I really admired this man, who effectively skewered the political, religious and material quagmire in which we live. For more than 30 years I've looked forward to his comedy turns in print, on TV and in movies (he was absolutely hilarious as Cardinal Glick in Dogma). If there's a god, Carlin will have him rolling in the aisles in heaven. George, you can say any word you want now, bud. You were the greatest.

A guy I know turned me on to Georges book "Brain Droppings" and it was the funnies shit ive ever read in my life. No rhyme or reason to it-just random thoughts "Tomorrow is the second day of the rest of your life " "Eat well, exercise, dont smoke, take your vitamins, die anyway" RIP George. You will truly and sorely be missed. Comics today dont hold a candle.

Wow, so he finally croaked. I figured God would have given him a horrid illness a long time ago. What a horrible person he was in his comedy routines. If he had any feelings about God like he expressed in his routines, then surely Satan has a special place doing all of those nasty things he talked aobut in life. He had a lot of guts, just too bad it wasn't for standing up for God and not mocking him. I prayed a short prayer for his eternal soul today even though it is too late.
Thank goodness I won't have to hear his rants while I am in Heaven with God Almighty, the one who has a forgiving heart. Even if Carlin had asked for forgiveness one time before death and meant it, he'd be in in a much happier place than in his burning miserable brimstone hell.
