That little kid is only 8 months old!!!!

Car's cant get over 25 miles an hour in Beverly Hills anyway the traffic is so bad. If he crashed, there would likely only be a minor impact. The kid looked well strapped to his body anyway.

First of all, I don't even think it is safe having the baby in that car at all. All it takes is a side-swipe and baby is dead or seriously hurt, even in a carseat. Second of all, it is even worse that he has the baby strapped to himself like that. If he rearends someone or gets rearended, he will crush the baby into the steering wheel.
And I don't think the US is too strict with child seat safety. There are other countries that are even more strict and they have much lower infant/child mortality rates. The US is only just starting to catch up with them.

He could be the safest/slowest driver on the planet and this wouldn't be safe! Did you forget there are other drivers on the road?? He isn't even buckled, if he were hit from behind that baby would probably be killed by the steering wheel. He shouldn't even be facing forward in a child car seat, let alone strapped to Daddy. Maybe you should go and work in a ER for a week and see parents crying because there child died from a preventable accident. Sad that people just don´t learn!
