The rapper just unleashed this rant about his performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, where angry fans started throwing stuff on stage after he went on late - very very late.
Says Kanye:
"I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall… Why???? I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much, But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been… this is the maddest I ever will be. I'm typing so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!!!!! Call me any name you want…. arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, racist, metro, fag whatever you can think of…. BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE … I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT'S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS! MY PEOPLE WORKED OUT A COMPROMISED STAGE PLOT AND A 3AM TIME SLOT AND I AGREED. FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR

REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. i was at bonnaroo, kayne bitched that he was not on the main stage, so the friendly staff moved him to 2:45 in the morning on the main stage. i agree that pearl jam did play past their set time, but still he should have atleast announced what was going on and not just let us linger waiting from midnight to nearly 5 in the morning to see some half ass show. he played for maybe 45 mins and left. dont say he gave his all. the next day the vendors were playing kayne music to make up for all the songs he didnt play

I was at Bonnaroo. He was supposed to come on at 8:45 pm. There was enough darkness for his ridiculous laser lights. He needs new "people" if he thought his show was at 3 AM…

OK, I was at Bonnaroo, and Kanye was the person I was most excited to see. Yes, I know it is a "jam band hippie music festival", and I love that as well, but I was excited to see some diversity added to the mix. We waited over 2 hours in the cold to see Kanye perform and we left about 3 songs into the show because it really did suck that bad. He can say he gave it his all all he wants, but the truth is, HE SUCKED. ask any of the 80,000 people that were there. HE GOT WALKED OUT ON. His perforance was terrible and he seemed to be drunk/high/on something. oh and you know what else perez? It is a PROVEN FACT, that kanye was at young jeezy's birthday party in atlanta that night. Look it up, there are pictures and everything. Maybe thats why he changed his performance to 3 AM…

seriously i was at bonnaroo. and i was amoung the tens of thousands who waited for kanye to come on, only to see him finally take the stage after the sun was rising. he disgusted me. we were amoung so many good performers, and kanye half-assed his entire set. he did not have any attitude, and his lip synching sucked to the pre recorded jane-conversations.

This was a huge disappointment. Try waiting over an hour to see a show….it sucked. We eventually just left. Everyone was pretty pissed off. At least come out and apologize to the people waiting to see you. First of all PEARL JAM rocked, and im not mad one bit that they went over. Waiting for kanye kinda sucked, but i had fun with the people i was around and chucking glowsticks in the air. Once the show started it was pretty good. I danced my ass off, but i would of been better if it was actually IN THE DARK instead of at dawn. I was up front and actually saw what happened to his screen. Somebody had put one of those big fat glowsticks in a water bottle and chuncked it at the screen. It was pretty funny, but if they wouldnt of broke the screen then kanye could of came out earlier! I think most people were just mad that their buzz was wearing off. Dont piss off 30,000 dehydrated and sleep deprived hippies when they're sobering up. Lesson learned.

maybe because bonaroo is an OUTDOOR MUSIC FESTIVAL. usually outdoor music festivals have very little stage elements and rely on performers to give it their all and have a good time. no one gives a ratt's ass about your light show, if your music was good enough, that would have spoken for itself. but it didn't and this blaming everyone for your mistakes and being a little diva instead of bringing it at the time when you should have is lame. Why was he playing at bonaroo anyway? did he throw a fit at the last minute and forced the producers to add him on the lineup like he did in coachella 2006? probably. Stick to your girly light show and overpriced stadium venues and leave the real music to the peopel who do it best-musicians.

pearl jam is the headliner for this show that night not Kanye . in bonnaroo fashion headliners usually play longer then there normal set times . pearl jam could have played another 2 hours . kanya should learn in a festival setting you have to learn how to adapt to the scenario . he turned his show into a opening slot for the next day .

I think it's funny how everyone who wasn't even there has a personal opinion about what happened.
The whole thing was a hot mess and could have been fixed completely with even saying a HELLO or Sorry about the delay. I would have expected that out of anyone and would have been just as disappointed with any other band that went on two hours late. Yeah.. he rushed through his set and seemed like he could care less, but as he stated he was trying to get to that pivotal song and give the crowd 200% on it. What he doesn't get is that just a lil understanding on his part would have gone a long way. He's not wrong in saying it was the organizers fault either.. they should have made an announcement also. The biggest piece of feedback the press gave organizers this year was "communication" Not only did it make them look unorganized, but it also made Kanye look 100x's worse than he was.
It takes two Kanye.. not just you and not just the organizers, but both of you. You can't expect everyone to do everything for you and people to like it.
I saw the Glow in the Dark Tour in Chicago and it was amazing.. I was highly anticipating seeing it again at bonnaroo and considering he didn't let the press take photos it was the perfect opportunity for me to sit and actually enjoy his show. Obviously… that didn't happen.
Okay, so you wanted a nighttime show and they fooled around with the schedule. Aren't performers supposed to have a Plan B, a contingency?
Always be prepared. If they wanted theatre, they'd have gone and seen Cirque du Soleil. A pro doesn't need props, he can stand alone on talent.

I feel very 2 sided about KW… I respect him as a very innovative artist, but I can't connect with him, and say "hey he might be cool as a person". I want to like him, but his attitude, and how he portrays himself is against how I feel a quote on quote "role model" should act. I read his blog, and feel his frustration, and it seems genuine, but I feel a true artist doesn't need stage lights and pyrotechnics, or for it to be dark outside to paint an intimate portrait of emotion. I had heard how awesome it was via reviews and from Diddy himself who made a video and posted it on You Tube.
I read every CAP letter and I really felt your pain. I am not an artist nor do I have a career. I am a mother of two teenage daughters…and I love your music….so as a music lover..and a fan……..and also adult enough to know exactly how much work goes into these shows. Most of your fans are so young they just think the stage that is there is for everyone and everything magically appears. They don't know how hard it is to deal with the stage managers and getting permits for certain light shows or for using fire or sparks for effects..there is just so much that goes into making the event not only memorable and breathtaking, but safe for the everyone, including the fans. When I think of you walking out there late because of the mistakes and tardiness of others, and your stage soiled to where you can't even move around safely, and the people you love hissing at you,….I honestly felt very bad for you and even though you don't read these things, (cont'd)

I was there at Bonnaroo…and i was PISSED. He could have at least said sorry when he got on stage…..but he didn't. Now that I know what happened though…I forgive you Kanye! Your show was much better on Nitrous though.
i was there, i sat around like an idiot, with not so much as a "sorry" from the diva kanye! I missed 3 other TALENTED bands to sit in a fucking field and listen to a DJ. It doesn't, or it shouldn't take an extra huge stage and lights to display your talent. I understand its fun to see lights and shit, but they aren't 100% necessary. For instance, Lupe Fiasco was at Bonnaroo as well. I know this because I was there. His show started around 2 hours before Mr. West was supposed to go on. There was no extra stage, talking "space ship", or LED screens. Lupe got on stage, blew everybody's minds and said thank you. That's all it takes for people to "get" all the work an artist puts into their show.
I do like Kanye's stuff. And I am sad to hear about the Bonnarooians throwing shit on stage…that's always a stupid selfish thing to do. And after reading this, I can see how this really isn't Kanye's fault. But I did leave Kanye's show early (calling him a diva), especially when the sun came up. But all I'm saying, is that I think maybe Kanye should revert back to his more productive, raw, and personal shows. Having to rely on all the special effects somehow takes away from getting personal with an audience…and vice versa. This is what I think happened.

kanye is just making PR excuses his show wasn't even good and i was front row. i waited for him for 4 hours!!! everyone was coming down and exhausted by the time he got on and did his show that didn't even try to get the fans up. kanye sucks my balls.

i saw kanye's glow in the dark show and was not as impressed as everyone made it out to be. it was during a tornado warning in virginia beach and he managed to get his ass on stage on time. his efforts were admirable. i was also at bonnaroo and saw the show.
an artist needs to be engaging with his fans. this does not mean that just through a "sick show." kanye may put on a great performance, but his attitude towards those watching said performance was less than fair. if you're late, you're late. at least acknowledge it. i feel like most of the shit kanye is getting from people after bonnaroo is because he pretended like nothing was wrong. my feelings are mixed. i respect kanye as a performer and an artist, but his actions otherwise are another story.

It wasn't a big deal that Kanye went on late at Bonnaroo, but what really sucked was that since he was on so late he threw off the line up for Sunday. Instead of playing at the Main Stage at 9am-11am, Israel Vibration were forced to play at a smaller stage for only half an hour.
Artists go on late, we get it, but don't get upset with us when you're the one who threw other groups off course.

Okay Kanye, I really hope you are able to read this with an open mind (and a rest-full mind because it is obvious that you are not getting any sleep).
Numero Uno: Blaming what happened at Bonnaroo on the production team is not in your best interest. Taking responsibiliy for your own actions should be key in your recent transformation and new connection with the universe. As a leading recording artist I'm sure you are aware of the importance of timeliness. I can assure you, as my view was pretty clear from my position, that the stage was free and clear of any kind of working crew for at least an hour before you made your entrance.
It seems as though maybe you are not aware of (due to lack of experience only I'm guessing) festival culture. Being invited to a festival of Bonnaroo's stature and perfection is an honor. The fact that you were there at all was a true miracle due to your genre of music. And, on top of that….you took over Phil Lesh's stage for his light show that fans look forward to for MONTHS! And even that is an understatement, I really don't know how to explain to you the amount of dedication and love that people have for Phil Lesh as well as for all of the members of The Grateful Dead. i was at bonnaroo, and pearl jame didn't perform an hour late they actually went on a 1/2 hour early. kanye didnt even apologize or recognize he was at bonnaroo and it appeared he was lip synching as well
