Yes! Yes! YES!!!!
We are thrilled and so proud to announce that our dear friend, Miz Katy Perry, has the new #1 song in America!!!!
Her super infectious I Kissed A Girl has dethroned Coldplay's Viva La Vida at the top of the U.S. singles chart, according to Billboard.
The song has already been #1 in Canada and will likely follow suit in other countries when it's released in Europe in late summer/early fall.
Industry experts tell us that Katy should hold on to the top spot for a bit too, as I Kissed A Girl continues to sell well and is getting MASSIVE airplay.
Perry's debut album, One Of The Boys, has also debuted on the Top 10 of the Billboard charts this week, coming in at #9.

yeah but her album debuted at #9!! And when people realize how unoriginal her music is they'll stop buying her cd. I gave in and heard her songs on her myspace and I must say they weren't as good as you say they are. Esp. in "ur so gay" she wasn't witty, clever or funny. I didn't necessarily think that what she said was mean but it was…blah; who cares; yawn; zzzzzzz. although if people keep listening to you and buy her cd just because you said it was "excellent", and her famous boyfriend works hard to help promote her music then she might stay around and do well.
Oh btw, Coldplay have the #1 cd. this is the second best selling cd of the year so far. But i guess you won't mention it on your blog, huh?
