Just when we thought things were getting better in Cuba, hatred like this reminds us more change is needed.
The first ever Cuban Gay Pride march was set to take place Wednesday down the streets of the communist country.
The parade was to start at 10:00am in Havana with attendees marching under the slogan "You are not alone."
However, as organizers arrived at the starting point, several of them were met by Cuban police officers who proceeded to beat and arrest several of them.
Not cool!

If you believe it is immoral and wrong then that is YOUR opinion and your certainly have your right to believe this way. But you do not have the right to judge, persecute or harm people who are gay. The gays need to look within themselves and realize they have a mental illness brought on by trauma through either abuse and/or a over bearing parent or absent role model of the same sex. There is a cause for your affliction. If you accept it, you can be cured. You do realize that Cuba is still a communist country, no? This had absolutely nothing to do with what the intent of the parade was, but the fact that it was a public demonstration. If it had been a march in favour of democracy or something akin to that, the result would have been exactly the same.

I don't understand why people who have been raised in western/mainstream-aligned societies believe that traditional countries have to accept what people see as a poison to their way of life. I'm wondering if any of you commenting on Cuba have actually been there??? Cuba is an amazing country and the people are surprisingly happy and kind with the little they have. There is virtually no crime and drugs, literacy levels are better than in the US and UK and the cuban people are so welcoming. As far as I'm concerned Cuba has less problems than many countries, you can't fake the happiness of people!

I love CUBA! I went there two years ago and the people, sights and sounds are amazing, the people are beautiful and vivacious.
