Doing Her Part

22878pcn_roberts08.jpg

She's such a conscientious shopper!

Julia Roberts paid a visit to her local Von's supermarket in Venice yesterday, and she brought along her own recyclable grocery bags.

More people should follow her lead!

The actress is committed to being good to the environment. She just spent millions on building a new very eco-friendly home.

Julia puts her money where her big mouth is!

    Re: Valer
    Vons is a Safeway company.
and they DO sell organic produce and other organic groceries… just like all the other supermarkets. it's the world we live in.
also… she probably bought those recyclable O bags there… "Organics" is a Safeway brand.

This bitch is a hypocrite. She advised us common folks to be green, yet she flies a private jet back and forth between her homes New Mexico, Los Angeles, and New York.

Julia's carbon footprint is as big as her mouth.

    julia roberts goes "green"….(um….yeeeeeeeeah)

to compensate for the last 2 decades of the very LARGE carbon footprint
    she's had…

julia roberts (or any other "high-profile" celebrity) using "green bags"
at the grocery store…is like putting a band-aid on a third degree burn..

the damage has been done…and such a tiny effort may not really help

Re: MatsM – I don't know about Vons but our local markets in Ohio reimburse for reuseable bags. 5 cents per reusable bag as a matter of fact. So I save about 25 cents per visit, not alot but what can one do with 15 plastic bags every week? I don't have enough trash to even reuse that many.

First of all Perez, it's spelled "Vons" not Von's. Theres one around the block from my job. And second of all they sell the green bags there. They cost a dollar each. I doubt that she walked in with the perfect amount of green bags to stuff all of her groceries in. Get your facts straight!!!

did you know plastic bags only count as 1.88 percent of world waste but food is almost 29 percent and on top of that america "contributes" more than 50 percent of all world waste!

She is a cunt- I used to wait on her- almost that I feel sorry for her and her people. EVERYTHING about her is fake, including her brand-new green grocery bags. This is her idea of a photo op.

'Green' bags are pretty common in Australia - most people down here have stopped using plastic bags and switched to reusable ones. They sell them at every supermarket.

Get on board folks, it's not that hard.
