How sad, what a waste of talent. She has a huge voice, which is going to waste because of her stupid addictions, that alones makes me feel truly sorry for her. Not to mention, her life is at risk.

Perez, this just Amy's style. Its one reason she's so unique and sells out so many shows. Did you watch her on the Grammy's (via sattellite)? This is just how she sounds. I thought she did great!

performance wasn't that bad, but the woman clearly needs help and why people keep hiring her instead of getting her help is beyond me. she is in the media every day for having overdosed, doing drugs, being hospitalized, etc. etc. just look at her– she is a walking skeleton–why is that an image we want to see and encourage?

Actually I thought she did great. Live shows are never what the recorded ones are, and considering all that has happened to her recently, I really enjoyed this. BTW her backup singers/dancers ROCK. Those guys are amazing!
Umm well I would have to say that the last thing I would call this performance is a Hot Mess…taking into consideration the way she has been living, the fact that she just got out of the hospital and the absolute shittyness of her other recent performances, I would have to say she sounded pretty damn good!
And I dont even care for her, so that is saying something!

Did you not watch the rest of her performance or just looking for the low hanging fruit? She sang Rehab as her first song, not surprisingly a little tense on stage for the first song and consider the subject matter in light of her recent struggles, probably hard to sing that with commitment, she's not anywhere close to be solid in her sobriety.
But for Valerie and the Mandela group song at the end she was stellar. Cut her some slack, and understand she is dealing with a deadly disease… she doesn't deserve to be given special treatment if her performance sucked it sucked, but you didn't cover the whole picture, and it wasn't accurate. Don't stoop to those levels, there is plenty of real stuff for you to report out there. She did a good job and "One Hot Mess" is not an accurate portrayal. You can do better than this…

I agree that Rehab wasn't the best choice of songs for this concert. Also, with the sweat they must have to put in to cover her so much, her background singers and band SHOULD be the highest paid ever (but I'm sure they're not). But still, I appreciate her talent and wish her good luck.

Bit offensive, though, that she took a song about a black leader who was wrongfully imprisoned and decided to sing "Free My Blake-y". I realize she often injects his name into lyrics, but in this case, Blake-y and Nelson Mandela's plights have absolutely nothing in common to the point where it's pretty much a complete disrespect to substitute Mandela's name for Blake-y's in what was the biggest, most overt Mandela tribute song of the entire night.
