Amy was arrested last January after a video appeared to show her smoking a crack pipe. While countless teenagers followed the story, I doubt many read the report, published on the same day, showing that the UK had the highest rate of drug-linked deaths in Europe.
By the time they walk through the door of the drug treatment centre, heroin and crack have destroyed much of their lives. It's already taken years and untold amounts of money from them, and ravaged their bodies. The people who sit in front of me and shout or cry or plead are shadows, attempting to claw back the life that these substances have taken from them.
For many, the cycle of drug use is so ingrained, so integral to their lives, that they can see no way out. And there's little I can do to set them on a different path. I can try, but until they lift themselves, they will always fall back. That's the reality of heroin and crack. No paparazzi, no awards, no million pound record deals. No life.

Whatever the fan supposedly did, if it were anything at all, security would have arrested him/her. But no, they didn't. Instead, they escorted Amy offstage and she wasn't allowed to finish her set! I fail to see how this drugged up, diseased and ultimately self-destructive person can be deemed worthy of world attention and praise. The woman is demented, vicious, racist and truly a sad, sad creature. I find it incredible that the media keeps milking this train-wreck for all she's worth- i.e. a couple of tabloid headlines and some whacked out performances. She needs to get the medical and psychological help she requires before stepping onto a stage and assaulting people who pay money to see her pathetic performances.
