    Re: Rob
you're an ignorant, sub par, ne're do well, simple minded dumb fuck, clearly. while you think you're dissing jay, your ACTUALLY showcasing your undeveloped, inable to comprehend, 3% functioning right side of your fucking brain. i say RIGHT side cause you clearly don't have a knack for appreciating or understanding pure unadulterated raw talent. you're devoid of any creativity or ability to recognize it. sad.

To all those that have said it was a rubbish cover - it wasn't meant to be serious, he did it in reference to one of the Gallagher brothers(I have no idea which one, cant tell the difference because they are both cocky, ugly, untalented tossers) criticizing him and all of the bad press about a hip hop star headlining a 'rock festival'. I thought it was really subtle and funny of Jay Z, rather than retaliating and saying something nasty.

    304

i cant belive how fucking stupid you americans are. you get stupider everyday. He is a genius for opening the concert that way and frankly if noel g had written a good album in the past 10 years maybe he could talk but oasis are SHIT. keep up you fucking morons.

  5. Hanna says – reply to this

    305

he didnt even know the fucking words!!! and when he was actually singing into the mic for the 3 seconds of wonderwall he was mumbling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! terrible, very disppointed, anyone could have got up there and done that performance

  6. 306

Jeez…if you're gonna do it, do it right man… Know the lyrics atleast!

  7. Alibe says – reply to this

    307

He couldn't keep his mouth near the mic, didn't know half the words [probably why he kept stepping back and letting the audience sing the whole thing], and couldn't even stay in key. I guess they call them rappers instead of singers - for a reason. He should just stick to doing his thing and stop ruining other peoples songs.

  8. 308

he should stick to his own music…great song though!!

    Re: Gemma
I agree……but i am a Jay-z fan. Watching it here looks crap but if i was there i guess the atmosphere would have made it worth it.

  10. OLIA says – reply to this

    310

WE ALL GET 'THE JOKE', THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT WAS A VERY PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO GET BACK AT GALLAGHER, WHO IS A GENIUS. ALL THE THINGS THAT JAY HAS DONE IN HIS LIFETIME (WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC) CAN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO HOW OASIS CHANGED MUSIC FOREVER. SO NATURALLY, OASIS FANS ARE PISSED THAT THIS ASSHOLE IS DISSING A GENIUS. GO FUCK YOURSELF JAY-Z, YOU'VE LOST A POTANTIAL FAN TODAY.

  11. fucko says – reply to this

    311

Jay-Z Is more relevant than Oasis ever was. The Gallagher brothers are clowns and always have been.

  12. Becca says – reply to this

    312

Jay Z is Awesome! Kanye West should have been one of the nights headliners too!

  13. Sarah says – reply to this

    313

    To Olia:

Oasis changed the face of music? Is that a F***ing joke. Those two little nit witts haven't had a good record this decade! They have one song that people know the words to and honestly Wonderwall can't be described as rock n roll, it was clearly penned as whiny, chick song…nothing original about that.

Oasis has nothing on Jay-Z's career. Sorry folks but Hova wins this contest with his hands tied behind his guitar.

  14. Jessi says – reply to this

    314

holy shit, he can't carry a tune to save his life.

  15. Aimee says – reply to this

    315

I liked it, and the people in the audience seemed to love it too. I really wish i'd gone now.

  16. paul says – reply to this

    316

I'm sure this has already been discussed, but Jay-Z was obviously poking lyrical fun at the gents from Oasis, who thought his inclusion was trash and made it clear during their interviews leading up to this. I thought some of the lines, in that regard, were apt: "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now." "There are many things that I'd like to say to you but I don't know how."

  17. FUCKF says – reply to this

    317

HO-va has nothing on Gallagher! Jay is just a Ho, that's all.

  18. Chris says – reply to this

    318

    WOW HOV delivers!

  19. sdfsd says – reply to this

    319

    Jay-z was AMAZING.
Wonderwall sucked though, he only did it to take a piss out of Noel Gallagher because he talked smack on Jay-Z for playing Glastonbury.

  20. Miss_ says – reply to this

    320

Horrible! Horrible! WTF! Another media/publicity made loser! And please, who said most rappers can sing! All they do is talk to catchy sounds - that's not real singing!

  21. johnn says – reply to this

    321

    rap sucks

  22. Presh says – reply to this

    322

    Looooooovvvvveeeeeeeee Jayz!

  23. ME says – reply to this

    323

JUST AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHOSE MUSIC THEY ACTUALLY VALUE….JAY-Z PERFORMED WITH RIHANNA (WHO HONESTLY CAN’T BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AS AN ARTIST). NOEL GALLAGHER PERFROMED WITH PAUL WELLER –THE MODFATHER. SO PLEASE, THESE TWO CAN’T EVEN BE COMPARED. HAVE YOU GUYS (EVER) HEARD JAY-Z SPEAK WITH OR TALK TO SOMEONE OR GIVE AN INTERVIEW? IT’S LIKE LISTENING TO A LAMB, HAS ABSOLUTE NOTHING INTELEGENT TO SAY AND IS NEVER FUNNY (UNLESS YOU’RE A MORON—THEN MAYBE YOU’LL FIND HIM FUNNY). NOEL ON THE OTHER HAND IS HILARIOUS IN EVERY INTERVIEW. I FEEL SILLY WRITING ABOUT THIS, BUT HONESTLY THESE TWO CAN’T EVER BE AND SHOULD NEVER BE COMPARED.

  24. Sarah says – reply to this

    324

I was watching here in London and it was BRILLIANT, fantastic job and very very well received here in the UK!! Well done Jay-Z!!

  25. dee says – reply to this

    325

thank god this may be the last glastonbury, cause its going right down the fuckin pan, too much change, not the same anymore, no disprespect to jay z , kinda cool, but totally on another path for me personally

  26. Barba says – reply to this

    326

It must be nice to have that kind of cash? He shouldn't quit his day job, which is???? Beyonce, what are you thinking girl??????

  27. AMO says – reply to this

    327

Terrible… I was really excited to hear it too. I usually love his mash-ups. He hardly sang Wonderwall and when he did it sounded like bad karaoke. Then he does his own song and it didn't sound much better. I'd be pissed if I were Oasis and/or the people at the festival. He blew it on this one…

  28. Jilli says – reply to this

    328

    V. clever Jay-Z! In that context, he seemed to demonstrate that their typical music sucks, but he completely rocks. I was kind of shocked at the little to no singing ability though! ;)

Re: Rob – I hate people that are asked a question and respond with a comment on peoples race, which is totally irrelevant. Is that how you are in normal life? Like someone says "can I borrow your pencil?" and you say "This pencils from China, I fucking hate the Chinese". You are a twat. And I'm white, in case you were wondering

    330

Duh you morons hes tsking the mickey out of oasis wonderwall cause the slagged him off in british tbloids about him being 2 hip hop 2head glasto!!!!! So the singing irrelivant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10* jays fab

    331

    I CAN'T BELIEVE HE HEADLINED GLASTONBURY……

WTF!!! THIS FESTIVAL HAS SOLD THE FUCK OUT!

  32. geliq says – reply to this

    332

First of all, no, he definitely CAN'T sing…and yes, it (Wonderwall) sounded horrible! However, I think the whole point was that he was sending a proverbial "F-You" to anyone that was opposed to him headlining at Glastonbury…especially Noel Gallagher for his very public rant to the media. You can clearly see that he wasn't taking the song seriously and was smirking through the first part of his performance- He was truly just clowning Oasis and I thought it was pretty funny! To be from the projects in Brooklyn to headlining a major show- I'd be smirking, too, if people were opposing me! The rapping, though, was truly on point! He ripped it!

  33. Eric says – reply to this

    333

  35. Victo says – reply to this

    335

Jay-Z was just making fun of the guy from Oasis saying he wasn't rock & roll enough to play at that festival. I love Jay for doing that!!!! haha

  36. Victo says – reply to this

    336

HE WAS JUST MAKING FUN OF OASIS, STUPID PEOPLE!!!

  37. Taysi says – reply to this

    337

FIERCE! I loved the bridge between Oasis and 99 and the ACDC sample was sweet. The brits were all like yum dirty teeth Oasis Yay! and that got them in the mood for 99.

  38. oasis says – reply to this

    338

WTF! in a bad way, he killed it, wtf was he ever doin' @ glasto in the 1st place?

  39. Chris says – reply to this

    339

Jay-Z gave them what they wanted… even turning his song, 99 problems, into a total rock song! It shows what a versatile performer he is… the show rocked and you can tell the crowd loved him…. better than most rappers out there and much better performed and transformed to 'fit the crowd'…. now Amy Winehouse….

  40. Suzi says – reply to this

    340

The crowd really loves that Wonderwall, eh? That says a lot right there.

His song was OK…..likable b/c it sounds like RUN-DMC :)

  41. 341

hahaha good way to say "fuck u" to noel gallagher!! hahahah fuck u oasis!

  42. Alana says – reply to this

    342

Im glad he played an Oasis song even though he cant sing and he didnt actually do anything other than play it. But atleast he recognised that Glastonbury is about great British/Indie music and he paid homage to it. THought his set was good and Im be happy to see more big American artists headline the main stage.

  43. OH YA says – reply to this

  44. ava says – reply to this

    344

how bout the fact that Jay-z sang to wonderwall was a big fat fuck you to the lead guitarist for saying that hip-hop had no place at that concert. The simple fact that Jay-z could take his song and get the crowd to sing along with HIM was priceless…throwing punches without using fist !!!

  45. Amand says – reply to this

    that was so horrrrrrrrible
    ugh

It was SARCASTIC. Noel said he wasnt good enough to headline so he was being snide back at him

  52. candy says – reply to this

    352

Noel Gallagher moved out of his home of 10+ years because James Blunt moved in beside him.

"Gallagher has put the £5.5million villa on the market, saying that he can’t stand living there in the knowledge that Blunt is nearby making terrible music."

Glastonbury is a rock festival not a fucking hip hop shit fest, theres enough of those going on around america… but now making their way over seas.. FUCKING TRAGIC.

  53. Ron says – reply to this

    353

    what the hell was that.
it was almost like he was making fun of oasis :@
some people would not be happy with that,
maybee he would try singing inot the mic.
its not the diffrent from rapping.
    ughh
    Jay-Z get a life
    go fuck you wife

    356

To all the Jay-Z haters take some advice from his song 99 problems..

If you don't like his lyrics press ffwd.

I for one love Jay..his spoof on that cheesey song Wonderwall was pretty hysterical. There is nothing i repeat NOTHInG rock and roll about 'wonderwall'. It's a ballad written strictly for the radio, no edge whatsoever.

  57. eb says – reply to this

    357

I actually liked the 99 Problems lyrics over the "Back in Black" music. It sounded good, actually.

  61. 361

Loved his use of "Wonderwall." Good joke. Need to be a guitar band to fit into the "Glastonbury tradition"? Check. Now, I'd like to see Liam or Noel add some hip-hop to their set. Not likely.

99 problems sounded alright, and mixing it with some oldie tunes was pretty cool.

  87. Marga says – reply to this

    387

Horrid. The voice was tone deaf, couldn;t play the chords. Was he mocking Oasis because so many raised a fuss about him playing at the fest?

  88. 388

Re: ME – Ditto 324. Well said. Well said.
It's called "sour grapes". An old, well-known parable. Heretofore, I had thought no one could exemplify the "sour grapes" parable better than Kanye West. But this 38 y/o highschool dropout, Betty Ford Center Alumnus, with a six-year-old's nickname—has definitely memorialized the Sour Grapes And Fox Parable.

    Re: Rambova

You mean the hear cuts? Maybe…But they didn't steal any of their music though. Yes, the Beatles were a big influence for them, but so were other bands. Ten years from now people will still remember Live Forever, Wonderwall, Masterplan, Don't Look Back in Anger, Supersonic etc. All classics. What's Jay going to be remembered for??? "Big Pimpin'" hmm , hmm that's ridiculous.

  91. 391

i just came back from glastonbury and Jay-Z was the best act there!

and the way he tore that dickhead from oasis was genious, as unlike oasis, he managed to keep his dignity and came out looking like the better man.

i have been 3 times to glastonbury and i have to say that he had the best response i have ever seen.
    wooo!!!
