Many have speculated that the school Will Smith and her husband, Jada, are opening in LA this September is really a Scientology indoctrination center.
In an LA Times report , the head mistress of HanCOCK's school basically says the Scientology school front talk is nonsense.
She says the school's teachers are of all religions and that one of the teaching methods the school will be employing ('study technology') is erroneously attributed to Scientology. The school boss says, "People tend to think study technology is a subject, but it is really just the way the subject is taught. They then come to the conclusion that we are teaching Scientology when actually a methodology doesn't have anything to do with content."
The paper goes on to point out that critics argue Will's school is not being honest about its links to Scientology.
David S. Touretzky, a professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University, created a website that dissects study technology and asserts that in the case of the Smiths' school, it is Scientology religion disguised as education.
The Prof said many phrases and concepts on the school's website are specific to Scientology.
For example, the school lists a "Director of Qualifications" and another teacher who is an assistant in the "Qual" department. The "Qual," said Touretzky, is where people who have completed a Scientology counseling, or "auditing," session or a course in the Church of Scientology are tested by a qualifications teacher.
"There is no reputable educator anywhere who endorses [study technology]," said Touretzky, a critic of Scientology. "What happens is that children are inculcated with Scientology jargon and are led to regard L.R. Hubbard as an authority figure. They are laying the groundwork for later bringing people into Scientology."
Ron Reynolds, executive director of the California Assn. of Private School Organizations, which represents primarily independent religious schools, tells the Times that all schools should strive for transparency.
"I know next to nothing about Scientology, but if you're using some method or technology closely associated with Scientology and Scientology is characterized as a church or religious body, it raises a question if they proclaim themselves as other than religious," Reynolds said.
He has not seen the school's website but went on to say, "I don't want to insinuate the school is failing to disclose anything. But as a matter of good practice, if a school has an affiliation, it would behoove it to expose it."

I worked with Scientologists for many years and I am familiar with this "learning technology" and it's lingo. This school is definitely using Scientology's "learning technology". Proof, the website says students create "models" to show they understand a concept and students look up the definition of words until they absolutely understand them. These two ideas are conrnerstone to the idiotic "learning technology".
P.S. the scientologists I knew were all unhappy and appeared lost. I would stay far away from this so called "religion."
You KNOW it's a Scientology school. I just hope all parents know before they send their kids there. Also WTF is with all the Dianetics commercials on BBC America now. Every commerical break there seems to be a Dianetics commerical (which is Scientology) but they are not using the words Scientology because they just put up their website to get people in. They know that more people are aware of the term Scientology than Dianetics. Sneaky.

i swore months and months ago to not watch any new movies with actors or actresses who believe in scientology!!!! i haven't broke yet!! thankfully there isn't a lot of them!! i hope USA keeps a close eye on them!!

It says right on the school' website that Study Technology was "developed by L.R. Hubbard". That's right bitches! Says it right there.

I know you're trying to preach tolerance. But some things should not be tolerated. For example, the CULT is homophobic. It considers homosexuals to be "covertly hostile" and they will try to cure you of the gay. Layfayette Ronald Hubbard was pretty racist. (I'll give the CULT credit, it's not exactly racist, but the founder was.) LEARN about Scientology's practices, treatment of members, and I can guarantee you that you will find something that should not be "tolerated". If you don't find something, you probably haven't looked hard enough. Most are outraged when they learn the truth.

Look up Jeremy Perkins who killed his mom after not being on meds for schizophrenic, because scientologists do not believe in mdeication for metal illneses. Better yet Lisa McPherson. On November 18, 1995, Lisa was involved in a minor car accident. She was apparently not hurt, but she got out of her car and took all her clothes off and seemed mentally unstable. She was taken to a hospital where she was physically evaluated as being unharmed, but the hospital wanted her to be psychologically cared for. However, some Scientologists arrived and stated that Lisa did not believe in psychiatry, and she checked out after a short evaluation and left with the Scientologists. She went with them to Room 174 of the Ft. Harrison Hotel for "rest and relaxation" according to the church, but church logs from Lisa's stay there from November 18 to her death December 5 show differently. Some logs are missing, and a high ranking ex-Scientologist has written an affidavit in which he claims that the church has in the past destroyed documents that might get the church in trouble.
