Looks like a new Wes Anderson film isn't happening anytime soon!
Jason Schwartzman is set to star in an HBO comedy pilot called Bored to Death.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, he'll play a a struggling thirtysomething writer with a drinking problem in Brooklyn who, following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. He takes out an ad pretending to be a private detective and starts taking cases — solving some and making others worse.
If the show was to get picked up by HBO for a series, would you watch?
HBO needs a hit!
Their former powerhouse Sunday nights are dead.

Would deinately watch. LOVE Schwartzman…totally brill!!
Sounds interesting….I'd watch it if I even had HBO but I don't because that channel is usually a waste a of money, showing little else than terrible B movies from decades ago or current crap movies or shit I've seen so many times that I wouldn't bother watching it yet again.

Jason Schwartzman is Talia Shire's son. Talia Shire (" yo, Adrienne") is Talia Coppola, sister of director, Francis Ford Coppola, aunt to Nicolas ( Coppola) Cage and I think aunt to actress/ director Sophia Coppola. That said, he strikes an amazing resemblance to Nicolas Cage, only much sexier. He is by far a talented actor. All his films are good, but his Coconut Records is off the charts. I bought his CD about 4 months ago and love it. "Nighttiming" and "West Coast" are great songs. Can you believe Jason recorded the whole CD in 1 hour, I kid you not, in his basement at home. If Jason Schwartzman can be that lyrically creative off the cuff, btw, his HBO pilot will do good. He is very talented. I wish him the best.

Jason Schwartzman is may favorite actor and I think definitely one of the best in his age group and totally overlooked and underrated.
Everything he does as an artist is fabulous — whether it be acting or in music.
Coconut Records is flawless.
p.s. I adore his eyebrows — everything about him is beautiful.
