uhm ew she sucks. she also does two covers of two of cheyenne kimballs songs full circle and four walls and she makes them sound like shit.

Well then why don't they post the original? If Miley is SO comfortable with her rendition, then maybe before (or better yet, after) they screen HER version, they should play the original? It's not fair to say that the youth of today will enjoy this version better WHEN NOT ONLY HAS THE YOUTH NOT HEARD THE ORIGINAL, but it was NEVER INTENDED FOR PRETEENS anyway. I once saw a dance troupe (of 12-14 year old girls) and it was COMPLETELY irrelevant and disturbing. When you hear girls this young talking about fun you immediately think of tea parties and dress up. Cyndi was talking about staying out late with her friends and her indignant mother and worried father. I am pretty sure Miley was only talking about being caught holding hands with a boy her parents didn't pick out for her from the Disney Channel.

Sounds like crap. What the heck is wrong with all these 'singers' now-a-days, can't they be creative on their own? Seems like none of them can come up with something good that they wrote on their own, or they cannot sing at all without the help of a studio that hides their crappy voices behind some effects. Shame!

I have been playing this song for my kids- on vinyl since they were babies - and now they are 16 and 18 and they think this version sucks too - sounds like a chipmunk, looks like a chipmunk - DISNEY and Miley should be ashamed of themselves.

Its not bad. We know she's no where close to the fabulous artist that Cindi is, but she doesn't sound like she's trying to be. I doubt she's going to pass off the song as the remade classic and try to make her version the more well known one. All stars do covers these days, no matter who they are. Leave the poor kid alone, she doesn't have a bad voice, she's having fun and thats all that matters.

It's a happy little song… No matter who sings, it's just for the kids. I loved Cindy when I was 12, I'm glad I got to live the 80's.
You know, it doesn't really matter if you like Miley as a person or not. That doesn't affect her music. Liking her and liking her music are two different things.
