The British media reports that a Friends movie is in the works.
Apparently, the success of the Sex and the City movie has inspired the crew to get back together and make a flick.
Sounds like wishful thinking to us!
A source says, "Jennifer (Aniston), Courteney (Cox) and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."
The SATC movie promised sexy glitz, glamour and couture on a grander scale than what we saw on TV.
Friends on the big screen sounds like a big yawn fest.
And, we're surprised that Maniston is game.
Hasn't she been trying to distance herself from her Friends character Rachel?
Well, an insider reveals, "As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can't help but look at what's happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous. What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again. But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again."
So…'Rachel' is the only thing the Man can do.

Sorry, I loved the show but I don't know how this could translate to a movie and not be mediocre and boring. The characters are all pretty annoying so 30 minutes was normally my limit.

I was addicted to friends when it was a series, and cried during the finale because I would no longer get my "fix" are you kidding? that was one of the most successful tv shows in history. It will do better than SATC simply because it appeals to both males and females

So she doesn't have a great film career. Not everyone needs to be some big super mega star. And she resembles nothing of a "man" that is just insulting. AWFUL! The reason "Sex" did so well is because the series was still fresh and funny when it went off the air. "Friends" stayed on the air 3 seasons too long and was stale and boring at the end. A movie would add NOTHING. It would be moot. But cash is involved, so expect to see "Friends", "Friends II: Could it BE More of a Sequel?", "Friends III: Is Anybody Out There Watching?" and finally "Friends IV: The Final Frontier (For Now, Until #V Comes Out)".
