The British media reports that a Friends movie is in the works.
Apparently, the success of the Sex and the City movie has inspired the crew to get back together and make a flick.
Sounds like wishful thinking to us!
A source says, "Jennifer (Aniston), Courteney (Cox) and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."
The SATC movie promised sexy glitz, glamour and couture on a grander scale than what we saw on TV.
Friends on the big screen sounds like a big yawn fest.
And, we're surprised that Maniston is game.
Hasn't she been trying to distance herself from her Friends character Rachel?
Well, an insider reveals, "As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can't help but look at what's happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous. What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again. But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again."
So…'Rachel' is the only thing the Man can do.

it does sound a bit lame and "i'm desperate for money and attention because my post-friends career sucks", but i (as well as millions of others) would probably still watch it!!

WOW, I would love it to see a Friends - The Movie! I can watch episodes any time, it still makes me laugh and feel good. It's such a good show, and with the right script it could really be a BIG hit!

One of my favorite TV shows was Friends…I have probably seen evey episode and currently own the collection of seasons….As much i love Friends I would hate to see it on the big screen…I think it will totally ruin it.
The show was mildly entertaining but it's not like I was dying each week or at the end of a season to know what would happen. The actors on this show are mediocre at best and Jennifer Aniston is so overrrated. The SITC movie had so much more going for it: glamour, fashion, TALENTED actresses/actors and sex! I can't imagine a Friends movie having any of those.

I feel like Friends is definitely one of the best shows ever created…I still watch it all the time - rarely can you decipher that it's a 90's show. They just feel so real, and I LOVE THEM (except for Ross). I'd DEF go see this.

I'm a fan of the movie, I'm a big FRIENDS fan already and I think a movie would please all the other fans too, but you are right, her movie career hasn't been close too what the FRIENDS franchise brought her. If everyone is in on it then I can't wait!
Well from an actual FRIENDS fan, I must say that the script better be peerrrfect in order to make this movie successful. Seasons 9 & 10 we're not the best (not that I don't love them…just not the best) due to lack of material but then again more time has past and ALL the characters have had time to grow in different areas and phases of life. By the time the movie comes out it will have been around 6 years since we last saw what our favorite friends were up to so that should give plenty of material to grow from. I think that the plot should have something to do with Thanksgiving. They all try and meet to celebrate Chandler's favorite holiday
But if someone has a better idea then please send it in…give them ideas…It needs to be GOOD! Let's all pray that they take these characters to a new level with the movie! Jen, Court, Lisa, Matt, Mattie & Schwimmy Schwimster please make sure this is good….we ALL have high expectations!

The real story here, folks, is that these flunkies can't seem to make a go of anything else outside of regular "TV".
I was NEVER a "friends" fan, actually loathed the whole thing, but saw enough to know there was never any real acting, these people just bumbled their way and to the audience who goes along with the dumbing down of america…got just that! It is absolutely disgusting that jennifer aniston can be a star at anything! nevermind to the undeserving tune of one million dollars an episode towards the last two seasons…why she has probably the very least to offer out of all of these morons. just disgusting! she's not even hot, and even less talented at that.

If they do make a movie, it will probably involve the wedding of Rachel and Ross since they ended the show without that happening. I loved Friends, but towards the end of its run, it got pretty old. The finale sealed everything..Sex and The City left us with questions. I really don't see where "Friends" could go, plot-wise, without ruining it.

"Friends" was such an awful show. I never understood the fascination with it. Must've been all the fat, ugly, lonely women of the world who watched it. The actors were annoying as fuck and judging by their post-sitcom "careers" they are all one dimensional and untalented.

Terrible idea. Watching Friends as a movie WITHOUT the laugh track would be utterly stupid. SATC series was already a "mini" movie every week. Friends is a sitcom. Plain and simple. What's next? A movie version of the Cosby show?? When will this end?
