The British media reports that a Friends movie is in the works.
Apparently, the success of the Sex and the City movie has inspired the crew to get back together and make a flick.
Sounds like wishful thinking to us!
A source says, "Jennifer (Aniston), Courteney (Cox) and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."
The SATC movie promised sexy glitz, glamour and couture on a grander scale than what we saw on TV.
Friends on the big screen sounds like a big yawn fest.
And, we're surprised that Maniston is game.
Hasn't she been trying to distance herself from her Friends character Rachel?
Well, an insider reveals, "As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can't help but look at what's happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous. What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again. But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again."
So…'Rachel' is the only thing the Man can do.

Friends was a massive series and there are masses of people who will be ecstatic they may be doing a movie (I am one of them).

I would actually be rather excited to see a Friends movie as long as it was handled properly. I loved the show, I think all the actors on it were very talented, the writers were geniuses… Lisa Kudrow is my favorite. I love her. So yeah, I'd be all for it.

So, cut out being bitter. It's not SATC, it's not glamorous or glitzy (which is awesome - but that is the trademark of SATC). Friends has a different catch and different story line, AND I think a movie would be awesome. BUT…I really don't think the movie should extend so far into the future that it's hard to relate to the characters, and so that it appears that the dynamic between them changed. That's what I wasn't a fan of in the SATC movie, to be honest.

I think what's lame is they only want to do it because sex and the city was so "successful." I loved the show and i'd still be interested in seeing them in a movie it just seems incredibly pathetic to be followers when they are one of the most globally successful shows on television. I wish the motivation was to get back together and make something great, instead of "let's see how much money we can make off this deal."

Has any of them worked at all since their racist little show went off the air? I guess Jen did a couple of very forgettable sit-com type movies. And, the Courtney had a cable show which went belly up. And I guess Joey made a Chimp movie or two. Lisa K. did a couple of Indies which weren't bad but only 267 people saw them and Chandler has just gotten fat. And Ross, what can I say, one of the worst actors around. I suggest that they just take the tens of millions they made off of friends, wise up to the fact that a show like "Friends" will only come around once in a life time and stop wasting our time making these pathetic little movies
