Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy was arrested Tuesday night in St. Louis on one charge of third-degree assault.
He pulled a Wino and beat up a concertgoer!
McCoy and crew had just finished the first song of their Warped Tour set when a black audience member near the front row called the lead singer a “fucking ignorant n—-r.”
As security was removing him from the crowd, McCoy reportedly reached down and hit the heckler on the head repeatedly with his microphone.
McCoy apologized for his violent reaction and said it wasn’t representative of him as a person. “I’m sorry. But when someone calls you something that ignorant and that offensive, you have to bash their head in with a microphone,” said McCoy.
Was resorting to violence the thing to do, though?
McCoy was released early Wednesday morning on $500 bond.

this isn't the first time he's done something like this..he was in concert opening for nas at northeastern university, and a kid in the front row said something to the effect that he wanted to see nas, not gym class heroes. he tore the kid up.

Whoa! Thank God he got out. I paid for Warped Tour tickets mainly to see Gym Class Heroes. I think it was stupid of him to do that, but at the same time the dude deserved it. Talk shit, get hit.

i was backstage when this was happening and the guy totally deserved it…once the fan got on the stage he ran out the back and security was chasing after him…katy perry was standing on the stage watching all of this happen with her hand over her mouth in shock

I was there when it happened, and it was incredible. Everyone was cheering him on and clapping. That asshole had some balls, for sure, for not only calling him what he did, but REPEATING it. Travis's actions were justified, in my opinion. It was a wonderful thing to witness. Not to mention Gym Class Heroes are amazing in concert.
of course retorting to violence was the best thing to do. travis was protecting himself. the 'heckler' hit travis in his sprained knee. the guy deserved it 100% nobody derserves to be called such disgusting words.

I'm just mad that out of all the stories that we have been hearing lately about artist's reacting to people throwing things at them on stage, saying stupid sh**, etc, TRAVIS is the only one I have heard got arrested. If you are going to arrest one, you need to arrest them all (especially when I can pull up video of that mess happening on youtube).
