American Airlines confirmed Wednesday that they may be cutting 900 flight attendant jobs.

Damn those high oil prices!!!!

They can join all the fired Starbucks employees on the unemployment line.

We're ALL gonna pay for this in some way or another.

Sucks big time!

Honey, Stewerdesses get about 4 weeks of training that aint rocket scientists….Jesus - but on vending machines and make everyone's life easier. I agree they should get rid of those grouchy old bats in favor of vending machines and keep the ticket prices down. Those old crows sure didn't do much to stop 9-11. What happened to all that training? I think AA should can them all and train some monkeys to hand out the cokes!

Laura dream on - nobody is hitting on you. I haven't seen a juicy stewerdess in 20 years. The ones who fly for U.S. airlines are all homely, fat, old dogs…..BOW WOW

Youtube has a video of a Japanese car that runs well on water. There are several videos of cars that run on variant methods, none of which are gasoline. The oil industry is squeezing consumers to get its maximum buck before the public demands that these alternative methods of transportation(which already exist) be put into place. As we speak execs are scrambling and lining up for the future payday from the next vehicular alternative. They just want time to get their ducks in a row to profit from them, while the existing oil infrastructure creates demand and worry.

For those of you who posted nasty comments, please remember that American Airlines and United Airlines flight attendants were the first people "murdered" on September 11, 2001. And yes, they were the first to return to work to provide a safe flight for your SKANKY ASS!!!!

Re: boooo – In a case of an emergency I'm thinking you would want someone who's actually been through at least simulations of that, namely a flight attendant. So don't go thinking they don't do shit.

    111

good, who cares about flight attendants, I know the AA ones are a bunch of hoes who screw all the teams they fly…

  12. 112

    GOOD!!!!!!!

Maybe those FEW attendants left will learn real quick how to have manners and treat customers with more respect and dignity.

Besides whats left for them to do? They don't assist customers, offer beverages or handout a small snack anymore.

    They are useless and rude.

we're already paying. EVERYTHING costs more. Just be glad you don't live in Hawaii.. I saw a news story with a loaf of bread is now over 5 bucks, half gallon of milk over 7 bucks.. a gallon over 14 bucks. Prices were high enough before because they have to import everything but that is REALLY bad.

Comef - Maybe those stews should have on UA and AA should have stopped the hijackers rather than opening the cockpit doors for them. None of them did their job that day by keeping the cockpits secure.

Get rid of them all - That work group has the least manners or pride. They hate their jobs and treat customers like shit. Get rid of them all. A bunch of old, ugly sour pusses!

    117

Sergi - those chicks never saved a soul. When they plane crashes they run out the door and don't give a shit about the customers. Do you think someone who makes the same wage as a McDonalds person would risk their life for someone they don't even know. Their job was to serve cokes and smile - they don't even do that anymore.

Re: tomca #102 – the point is that republicans believe that gas prices are dictated by supply and demand. the dems seem to think that congress can lower it, but since they have had power, prices have still risen. is that clear enough for you?

I thought we are in Iraq to get their oil. Where is it?
Blame Iraq for high gas prices. Damn they should know better than to bomb their own pumps.
Blame Bush and Republicans for the mess this country is since 2000.

Better screw up an intern than to screw up the whole country.
    DAMN republicans!

  20. liz says – reply to this

    120

Start blaming yourselves people! What if nobody in America were fat? We'd save billions of dollars in gas. Airlines would double their profits. Savings on fuel for cars and airlines due to their lighter loads would top $5 billion, according to industry studies. Researchers say each overweight driver burns about 18 additional gallons of gas a year, or just under a billion gallons altogether. Savings in the air are far greater: The jet-fuel savings alone could double North American airlines' forecast 2008 profits to $3.8 billion and maybe persuade them to stop stranding passengers because they can't afford the fuel for flights.

Hmm maybe that explains the bad attitude and service I just encountered last week. They forgot to give my row a damn drink on an international flight from the UK to the US … and when I asked for one I was snapped at by some bitch "Can you wait, we're about to do food service" to which I informed her they forgot us and we had been in the air for three hours. Brought me a half filled ice free soda and didn't even bother to ask the couple next to me. That's what I get for going with the cheapest flight. Ahhh I miss flying BA. Oh, but the new games you can play on the head rest screen kick arse.

Re: Krist – Maybe you need to check your facts… Starbucks is closing 7 stores in my region and the remaining stores are fully staffed- if not overstaffed. People WILL lose their jobs, and you are moronic for assuming otherwise. However, the good news is the shitty, rude and incompetent children that work there will be the ones fired first and the quality employees are the ones being transferred to remaining stores.

As for Sbux, I'm glad to see you losing profit after that ridiculous overexpansion that has happened over the last couple of years… it was greedy and lowered your overall quality. As for trying to compete with McDonalds… it totally disgusts me because the fast food industry serves up TOXINS and HORMONES hot and fast to anyone willing to fork over a buck. America you are disgusting, stop eating fast food and filling your kids with McFrankenChickenHormoneNuggets… unless you want your 7 year old daughter hitting puberty by her 8th birthday- ingesting foods filled with growth hormones is just as bad as giving yourself a double dose of estrogen every day. Congratulations my beloved fellow citizens on allowing yourselves to be slowly murdered on your own dime.
