According to a MarketWatch report, Steve and Barry's, the retail home of Sarah Jessica Parker's discount clothing line, Bitten, could be bankrupt soon.
The retailer has 200 stores but is having trouble paying the bills and is considering bankruptcy and liquidation.
Where will SJP go with her line?
Could she be to blame?!
Gosh, so many people are being unemployed in America and companies are on the brink of bankruptcy.
Times are tough.

Puh-lease Perez. If you were really on top of things then you'd know that SJP's line consistently sells out (unlike a certain someone else's…). I don't think she'll have any trouble finding another store to carry Bitten.
I have shopped S&B since it came to my hometown. Since they introduced "designer lines" I haven't spent as much money, however. The SJP line looks cheap (even in a "cheap" store). There is a dress that has been hanging since the day it was brought out on the floor, and I swear not a one ever sold. I will miss the store, especially in the winter, because I bought coats and hoodies and sweats to keep warm.

How can you even talk about economics while supporting the Democrat party for the upcoming election? I understand about the social issues, but if you want the economy to rally then a free market system without all the road blocks put in place by liberals is the way to go. Lowering taxes for large employers would be an excellent idea right now; so would lifting some of the ridiculous bans on domestic drilling and refining of oil. It's common sense.
Everything in there was cheap looking and ugly anyway, good riddance. Poor people shoud have the option of getting things that actually look nice… not the crap they sold at S&B, what a shame.

They were awful, and I didn't want any of it even if it was only $12. Their college stuff and hoodies and coats were the move if you needed something inexpensive though.

the economy has taken a SHARP decline since the Democratic congress was elected! Unfortunately, I'm one of those companies that opened several of their stores and I'm getting stiffed for $23K. I've worked with them a long time and they were very disorganized and did not manage the business well. It's small companies like myself that are getting the shaft while Steve & Barry I'm sure made plenty of money.

Businesses fail because their products or services are NOT BEING BOUGHT WIDELY ENOUGH TO PAY THEIR BILLS AND PROVIDE A HIGH ENOUGH PROFIT MARGIN TO JUSTIFY STAYING OPEN.
The boom of the 90s gave everyone a false sense of what it takes to succeed. Some businesses expanded WAY TOO MUCH (STARBUCKS) and now they are having to scale back to stay competitive. Today's market is much more realistic than that of the 90s.

I saw the "Oprah" show when SJP had women from the audience on stage modeling her line. NONE of it looked flattering on the women. The clothes were so cheap looking, from the fabric, to the total lack of style, design, tailoring….etc.
I couldn't believe that she, with her sex&thecity fashion reputation would attach her name to such KMART type clothes. The failure of Bitten would have happened in any economy. I think she was promoting items that cost $10 or less,(pants, too) It all looked like garbage, & not in a 'good' way,like how Carrie would dress on the show.

If you ask me the reason we might file for bankruptcy its not the price of the clothes, its the fact that they were trying to exand so quickly, I have been working there for 2 years and we've been fine, up until they started opening like 5 steve and barry's per month.

I interviewed at their corporate headquarters once and the whole process was weird. I had no idea who they were and where they got my resume from. They outsourced some of their HR so I was phone interviewed with someone who worked from home. Then I find out they're in LI, not Manhattan. They said they were opening up an office in NYC, so I went. The guy in charge of pr was hands down one of the biggest douchebags I have ever met. Between their hiring practices, shitty quality and big payouts for celeb lines, I'm not surprised they are going bust.

That's the worst photo I've ever seen of SJP. I like her Perez. She's a very down-to-earth person. Her figure is PERFECT and she's a real humanitarian. I can see bashing other celebs, but not SJP.
