Big Opening, Bigger Disappointment

As you probably know by now, Will Smith seems to own the July 4th weekend for movie releases.
His Independence Day, Men In Black, and Men In Black 2 movies have netted millions over the holiday weekend.
So, it's no shocker that his latest film, Hancock, is out this July 4th as well.
The movie is already off to a good start and its expected to make over $100 mill this weekend.
Unfortunately for all those involved, the movie is getting shiteous reviews!

Usually you can never listen to the "critics", but we saw this movie yesterday on it's opening day and it SUCKED! I hated everything about it, I think Will did a terrible job! I was sad til it ended…I couldn't see this type of movie going into a series on tv. It was totally not worth it and when it comes out on dvd, I will definitely avoid it! Don't go see it, I promise you'll hate it. Anyone that doesn't hate it is obviously just a scientologist retard.
I did not watch I am Legend because I heard that it was boring. Then I saw it on DVD and it was worse than I even imagined!!! I ain't going to listen to anybody this time. I have seen all of Will Smith's movies and I've been dissappointed. Thank God he didn't win the best actor for Pursuit of Happyness.
i saw it last night….it was pretty good. reminded me of will smiths "used to be cool" badboys days. It was entertaining. Not the best movie ever. Its got a great suprise in the middle. Short sweet! (1hr 45 min) Can we say Prequel???
I saw it Tuesday night when it opened. It was GOOD! Every member of the cast was terrific! ESPECIALLY Jason Bateman!!

i think will smith is a good actor and he has made some pretty cool films, but i think i will pass on hancock…@ this point smith is becoming a little bit too overexposed for my liking.

i saw it and i thought it was good…… i dunno i think it's sort of pointless to take critics into consideration too much. everyone is different so everyone likes different stuff…. right?
oh and critics are only people who make comments about other people's work without ever really putting themselves out there for criticism… (kind of like perez)

1. I NEVER agree with any Movie Critic anyway.. I mean what's in a name.. the job title is transparent… CRITIC!!?? Who'd want that job.. no wonder they are so cynical/critical?!

I don't know about the "shiteous reviews" but I saw it in a sneak preview last Wednesday and it's the perfect non-cerebral movie for a summer long weekend. I recommend seeing it and making a decision for yourself Perez - it isn't Traffic for sure but it sure as hell isn't The Love Guru (just a tragic, tragic 90 minutes of non-comedic torture).

I saw it - The twist ruined it and would have been so much better without it. I could tell something was up in the beginning too.

I saw the movie and it was wacker than the blair witch 2! he didnt kick any ass, all he was doin was talkin shit and jumpin his lil ass around. i have had it with will smith. i like him and all for being a positive role model for the youth but he sucks as an actor.
As much as I love Will Smith, I don't want to watch a movie about an alcoholic super hero, though I'm sure this movie will be a huge success.

…different movie! I won't see it. I've seen numerous movies. He is the SAME, FUCKING, TIRED, BORING character in EVERY movie. This dumb ass limited actor was even the same character in "Ali". Does he have any ability? I watched "I, Robot" last night. SAME CHARACTER!!! I'm sure the stupid ass wear-the-hat-so-it-covers-one-ear idea was his!

I think the reason there are unanswered questions is to get us back to see Hancock2. Will said in Hancock2, Hancock and Charlize character Mary will get back together.
Also, even if you see the movie, make sure you get the DVD they say it's more adult on the DVD. Longer than the movie, more sex scenes and more cuss words.

All the people saying they love this rotten movie are scientologists in a computer lab at their "church" center. They do this on all the websites and the administrator of the site can see that they are the same people over and over with different names. Sad but true.

The critics were right on this one. Jason Bateman is AWESOME in the movie- total hottie- I was shocked! Will blows. The storyline is terrible & full of holes.

I saw it the other night and I loved it. Has a lot of funny parts. and all the guys that went with me really enjoyed it as well. It's not your typical "super hero" movie.

I just saw this movie today and it was really good. It was what a summer movie should be– entertaining, light-hearted, and original. With all of the comic-book hero movies hitting the theaters left and right, it was fun to see an "anti-hero" hero movie. No, it's not Oscar worthy, but definately worth eight bucks.

so where i live had a one day special showing of Hancock, and well it was…okay. it wasnt as good as i had hoped, the movie took a turn and didnt end up being what it was advertised as, comedy in the beginning and then it got dark, and it kind of was a HUGE dissapointment.
i definitely enjoyed the movie. the reviews are right about the story ending being weak but i dont thnik it detracts from the first 2/3 of the film.
