Who here is talking about taking away freedom of speech? Pete didn't say anything about locking the guy up for what he said. Posters aren't saying that he should be punished by law…BUT, some people think that racially degrading someone is morally wrong and they have something to say about it.

Anyways, Freedom of Speech is not a free pass for all. Some cases qualify as harassment. Using words to harass someone to the point which it interferes with their ability to perform their normal life functions is punishable by law. Hate speech IS intented to provoke and harass someone, but it's just that most of the time, it isn't carried out in a way that make it prosecutable.
