And, we were VERY very impressed with her performance!
Not only can Demi actually sing live but she also sounds good and was playing the piano!

Umm to all you people saying that Demi sucks, why don't you go to Youtube and listen to some of her songs like "Forget" or "Until You're Mine" then you'll feel really stupid because she has an AMAZING voice. Losers!

Demi is very talented, far more talented than Miley. I'm going to be honest though, and say that this performance wsn't all that great. Her other performances have been MUCH better.

I usually agree with you on this sort of thing Perez BUT this time, you are wrong. Demi's performance was not good. Anyone with any musical training or experience would hear how flat she was throughout the entire song. Ugh, it was just BAD.
We have another Jessica Simpson .. there is no doubt this girl has talent and is far better than Miley. But, she over exaggerate her singing way to much its like she's having a seizure if you've seen Jessica Simpson's performances you'll know what I'm talking about.
Demi's performance wasn't mind-blowing, BUT she is a big step up from that trash Miley. Demi is a breath of fresh air. Miley is poo poo.

I'm unimpressed with Demi's performance because, not only does she go flat every time she has an extended note, but her mouth is always spread and the vocal quality suffers because of this.

Demi has an incredible voice. I've been a fan for a few months and this actually isn't one of her better thanks. It still find it amazing beyond words. The way she riffs and belts is insane. But if you listen to some of her recorded old stuff from her demo you can get what her music is. HER songs are actually really deep. The forget. And lala land it google. Look them up on youtube people

Oh my god, there are so many things wrong with this picture that I don't even know where to begin. Basically…. This girl gets paid too much money and gets too much hype to sound this bad. The melody is easy, and yet she is hitting wrong/out-of-tune notes. On top of that, she has poor breath control, doesn't know how to sing properly and get rid of that speak-singing sound, and was adding out-of-character Mariah Carey-style runs that had no place in that song (and poorly, I might add). Furthermore, it's not a good idea to let your "new star" go on live television and play the piano if they sound like they've only been playing for a year. It's such an obvious gimmick to try to convey this image that she is some kind of "classically-trained" Junior Alicia Keys. The whole performance just reeks of artistically-ignorant businessmen/-women working too hard at creating an image instead of real quality. I wish this girl were in school and learning music on as an extracurricular, instead. On the other hand, at least she'll be comfortable during the economic crisis our country might fall into.

Okay, my honest review of her perfurmance*.
Demi is…okay at best. But she was way to breathy in this song, and she didn't hit thes notes they way thier suppose to be hit. And towards the end where she's like "this is me" and holds it out, she starts to sound like a animal, can't think of the name of it, but its not a good thing.
I don't like this perfurmance, but Demi as a singer, eh…she's alright.

she's ok….I still like mileys voice better because it is more unique and powerful. When miley sings, she gives it her all and you can fully understand the message she is trying to get through. with demi, i feel nothing and to me she is just singing the words with no emosion behind them. she also doesn't have the stage presents of miley. miley knows how to get the crowd's attention and has more energy than demi. Miley is just more interesting in my opinion. Even if demi did reach miley's fame (which i don't think will happen but you never know) i don't think she would be able to handle it becuase she doesn't seem as thick skinned as miley. I've seen interviews with this girl, she just sits there with a huge overpowering smile on her face and says really ingnorant things about the business.
