Gray's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson spoke out about the Emmy bruhaha that surrounded co-star Katherine Heigl and her decision not to put her name into consideration for an award this year.
Says Wilson:
"All actors have to do that exactly same thing every year. The public at large doesn't understand it's not about your body of works. It can't be something in the middle. You can have a great seasonal arc, but if you don't have that show that's your show, then it's not the right thing for the category. It was amazing to me the way it got blown out of proportion. Some years I submit, some years I don't."

I'm more concerned with Chandra Wilson's response. Horribly written! She's a writer?!?!? Case in point:
All actors have to do that exactly same thing every year. The public at large doesn't understand it's not about your body of works.
Tense problems. Grammar. Misplaced pronouns. Someone should proof her work before it leaves her desk.
I still think her ego is slowly taking over….
Please find something else to bitch about. She's pretty, she's doing what she went there to do, and if you can do it better, get off your angry ass and do it.

Yea it changes my mind. She was just being genuine and honest, realizing that her name could get her something that she didnt earn, and in doing that rob some less famous person of what they DO deserve. good call. People should get what they deserve instead of it being a popularity contest.
ugh… Did Jennifer Aniston or Cox leave friends the show that launched them until it was done to pursue movies? NO! She's young she has time. Show some loyalty!

I'm not a huge fan and agree that she may talk too much sometimes but from my understanding the only reason she mentioned why she withdrew was because tmz or some paps had asked her why so she answered. Its not like she held a big press conference to "trash the writers."
But I bet had she not won the emmy last year then she wouldn't have withdrawn, haha.

Why is everyone making a big deal about this? She never said the writing sucked. She said that she didn't get the material that warranted an emmy. When you are a supporting character, you don't put yourself in the running for the lead character prize. It sounds like common sense to me, but then again common sense isn't so common.
I like her as an actress and I'll continue to see her movies but I don't think that she made the right choice in letting the public know that she chose not to participate in the Emmys. She had to realize that her statement does sound ungrateful and rude. She also has a history of "biting the hand that feeds her" with her comment about Knocked Up, which launched her movie career. I think she needs to be counseled on what is acceptable to say in public.

All I think she meant by saying that she wasn't going to submit her name this year for nomination is that she didn't believe she had a good enough reason to do it…save her spot for someone else who is more deserving this time around. The only reason she said anything was probably because people automatically assumed that since she won the prior year, she'd be in there. Maybe she's trying to make a statement that not everyone thinks every single thing they do is brilliant.
I think she is fabulous! I also find it refreshing that she declined - with SO many in this town whoring themselves out for absolutely no reason. It is funny that integrity and taking pride in one's work has now been deemed 'ungrateful'. More power to Katherine!

K has integrity, I'm glad someone who actually knows how it works stuck up for her. This is why we all watch the awards shows and shake our heads saying why was she/he nominated? When someone goes against the promo and recognizes they have no business being nominated based on the work, bless them to clear the way for actors who have had a really phenominal season. It's called best for a reason and bless her for having the integrity to say others were better and get out of the way of the Hollywood ego factory. I like her even more and admire her stance.
