You have got to be kiddin' me! There is most definitely something wrong with being a teen parent. Children shouldn't take on adult responsibilities, plain and simple. It' not fair to the child that is having the baby and it's not fair to the baby that's born to a child.
My sister became pregnant with her first child at 16 and had her baby just after her 17th bday. She thought she was in love and now 10 years and one more child later (thank goodness the kids have the same father, but I digress) she struggles to raise them herself. The kids father is a dead-beat, who doesn't want to work or go to school. The dude barely takes care of his kids. Yet they think he's the shit and they think their mom is full of shit. My sister put herself through college, graduated, makes a decent amount of money at her job, and still plans on getting her masters degree. And Damn it! It's a struggle for her. She hasn't been the best mom, but she's trying. I look at her, I think she looks older than I do at times…. I feel sorry for her because I feel like she has no sense of self, everything is about the kids (as it should be) but she didn't have a childhood. I find that really sad. People deserve to progress in age appropriate stages of life, not 0 to 15-16 then adulthood. It's not right.

I don't know if you have siblings, but my sisters and I talk to each other several times a day and we value each others opinions and there is no bullshit between any of us.
I'd would never spit on my sister (or my other two sisters), but let me tell you, I wanted to when she told me she was pregnant. I got over it though. CeH, I've gotten over that fact that my sister has her kids. I'm an aunt now and there's nothing I can do about it.
My sisters pregnancies were not unplanned and she finally admitted it. Like I said in another post, she is my half sister, I feel had she lived with our family growing up, not been on such a long leash, and not been around her sister in law, whom had her first two kids (and has 6 total now) by the time she was 18 as role mode, I don't think she would've gotten pregnant.
The word "mistake" was not meant for my sister's kids, it was meant for her actions, i.e. she now knows it was a mistake to have had sex when she did and it was a mistake believing that her and her ex would be together forever.
Let me tell you something, my sister has so many friends that she talks to, and you what? Most of them got pregnant around the time or after my sister did. Oh and did I mention they all went to an all girls Catholic school? Lotta good that did them. She definitely has more people to talk to besides me.
