It drives me MAD to see how everyone is making it acceptable that this young teenage girl got pregnant. Teen pregnancy is not ok, & should be frowned upon. I realize it's going to happen, but still, it's not a good thing. Not all teenage girls are a Spears with millions of dollars to assist in raising a child! She's a child herself!
Congrats, Jamie Lynn and Casey, your baby girl is beautiful. Maddie is a very sweet name.

xusze - I applaud you for knowing that you don't want children and for most of your views-I never even thought of spitting on teen mothers. I have known girls who have gotten pregnant as a teen and very few are happy now. alot live with their families in houses that weren't meant for 2 families, grandmas are acting as the parent while the parents work at crappy jobs. One I grew up with got pregnant in the 10th grade , dropped out and got married. She thought that she was 'so grown up' compared to us. flash foward-she is living in a lower cost of living state, is a grandma when some her age are having children still. Her husband -who felt pressured to get married- cheats on her constantly-she puts up with it because she has never really had a job and would not be able to support herself. she talks like someone who never completed school, smokes pot all day and says 'cool' constantly. She grew up but really, never did. Sad.
A trainwreck just waiting to happen. Hope grandma Lynn enjoys raising kids. Soon she will have small ones under her roof while Brit and Jamie are showing their vajayjays.
congratulation on her birth, but if she wants her child to have a normal life, she won't put her new baby infront of a magazine and she needs to show her daughter that education is better when she try to go to college and forget holloywood for now, because it messed her up in the first place.

Re: xusze – I thank God that you don't have any also. Kids aren't for everyone. My daughter is 20 and doesn't want any kids. Although she may change her mind I am glad she is honest about it. I think that you are too hard on others though. I volunteer at our crisis pregnancy center and have seen a lot of girls/women in a crisis situation. Not killing a baby is the goal first, learning not to end up pregnant is next. Say no, use birth control, give the baby up for adoption or raise it yourself. Too many teens are having babies but no need to want to spit on anyone. It's surprising how many females are so uneducated about relationships and their bodies. And boys/men……show some restraint and respect.

Why do thank god I don't have kids? I said I didn't want them, don't I fall into the category of "kids are not for everyone" as you say? Good for you trying to help at the crisis center. But wouldn't it have been to better to help these girls get educated about how not to become pregnant in the first place? I'm sorry, but there needs to be some kind of REAL LIFE, nitty-gritty parenting and sex education classes or something in school because it seems like a lot of parents don't deal with educating their own children about those things.

Yes the baby is cute and the picture is overly photoshopped but I think the photographers were trying to make Ms. Spears look older and maternal. Yes, teenage pregnancy does happen everyday everywhere, and yes it is shocking that this has happened to someone who is a widely known role model for the teeny boppers of America. However, it is still not ok and the media needs to stop making it look acceptable and normal for this situation to occur. Since the announcement of her pregnancy there have been 'pregnancy pacts' in the high schools, young girls saying they wanted to be like Jamie Lynn and have a baby because babies are cute, but what their young minds don't realize is that having a baby is a life-altering occurance and that babies grow up to be toddlers to children to teens to adults. These kids are not thinking of their future and it is disturbing that they still make this CHILD to be role model for young girls. Take these pictures down, take Ms. Spears out of the media. It is NOT ok and I do NOT accept it. My youngest sister-in-law is in the age range that idolizes Ms. Spears. I do NOT want my youngest sister-in-law to think that becoming a mother at 16 is ok and acceptable. I do not want Ms. Spears to be a role model for young adults.
