A 30-year old British businesswoman is facing six years in Dubai jail after she was allegedly caught having sex on a beach in the Arab state, according to new reports.
Yikes!!

After throwing back some champagne at a brunch, the horny Brit headed to a local beach with one of her friend's friends for some action.
When the pair were allegedly found having sex by a policeman, he is said to have let them off with a caution.
However, later, after the couple were discovered in the same position, they were arrested, and the woman is said to have become aggressive.
Sheesh…looks like the horny, drunk duo made some bad calls.
The Brit's been charged with having sex outside marriage - considered an offense in Dubai - as well as indecent behaviour in public, being drunk in public, and assaulting a police officer.
The defendant told the media that she fears she will be 'made an example of' under the strict laws of a country where even mild public displays of affection are frowned upon. And, though alcohol is available to non-Muslims in hotel bars, it is an offence to drink or be drunk in public.
If you are headed to Dubai, don't be like the drunkard Brit — claim your hook up is your 'husband' (or wife) and take them to a hotel room to fuck!
Oh, and do not - repeat, DO NOT - bring any drugs in the country, buy any drugs in the country or anything of the like.
And don't be gay!

After being bailed she decided to get married to her lover so that the sentence will not be as harsh….Officials told her she will get 3 months to 6 years in jail and she is still not sentenced!!! She's been working here for three years she should've known BETTER!

It is not about her having "sex", its about her not respecting the rules, verbally almost physically assaulting an officer, slurring racist comments and she was on drugs. She deserves whatever sentence she gets! For this is UNACCEPTABLE anywhere else in the WORLD.

You guys are so wrong about Dubai… Im an expatriate here, and let me just say that Dubai is a very nice place to live and visit.
Except for the extreme heat during summer (and the traffic, which is common to all major cities), Dubai is tolerant and open. Anybody can practice their religion, there are lots of bars where alcohol is served, and the transformation from a dessert to a habitable green community is just amazing. Anyone can wear two-piece swimsuit in beaches when they want to, but yeah, fucking in public place is prohibited.
The women who wear those ninja-type costumes are not actually deprived of their rights. If you come here, you'll see that they consider wearing such clothes is some form of status symbol - rich women wear very expensive 'abaya' made from extremely expensive silks. They like wearing the abayas so stop hating.
Im gay, and I dont seem to have any problems living here. If anything, this is one of the best place to be gay! Seriously!
We have to respect culture. Dubai should be applauded instead of what you do Perez. Come to Dubai. Ill be happy to give you a tour.
I live in Dubai, and the fat of the matter is, that like any country, you have to respect their laws. Its not about married or not, its about having sex in public. So just don't. And didn't the police officer let them off the first time around??? Besides, UAE and other ex pats are tired of foolish Brits and their constantly drunk "we conquer all" attitude. The brit ex pats are far more offensive than anything the Dubai gov't could throw at us. As for the Gay "laws"- those granted are nonsense. And if you think for a sec that there isnt a gay community here, then you are seriously wrong- like anywhere in any city.

Ok, if you get caught drunk on a beach in US, it is PI, and illegal. Also you must not be offensive and assault a police officer or have sex in a public space here in US. illegal and you will go to jail. (as you should). I can just see a 30yr old rich drunk bitch (having already been warned) and the cops trying to arrest her! She was no doubt acting like a fool. She should go to jail.

1. Both the man and woman have been charged so no double standard.
2. The woman is not a hooker. She has been there for three years working for a publishing company.
3. Since her arrest, the company has fired her. Which is a double standard as this company has helped staff get off drink-driving charges and has a convicted criminal as one of its senior editors.
4. They were silly not to leave the beach and get a room after the cop gave them a warning.
5. Six years is harsh but they probably won't get that sentence. If the international media gives enough bad press to this story, the government may pardon her and deport her. As Dubai hasn't got much oil - it's all in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates - they need tourist dollars.
6. She won't get sentenced to death or flogging. Sharia punishments only apply to Muslims.
7. Perez might also be interested to know that it is a very easy place to get away with being gay. Arab men walk around holding hands all the time and while it's technically illegal for an unmarried hetero couple to live together, two guys can share a flat without arousing suspicion.
I've been to Dubai several times and I think that lady is a dumbass. They are all about respect in that country and it's a disrespectful thing she did. She should own up to it. No one forced her to have sex on the beach and she was already warned once. Don't blame Dubai, blame stupid tourists.

Yes…this is true. I have been living here for a year and a half. A friend on mine got 3 months in jail for telling an Ace Hardware store employee to "Fuck off" after poor customer service.
That is how they roll here.
Woah, this reminds me of the Schapelle Corby case in Bali a few years back where that girl was sentenced to 20 years, she was framed bringing marijuana into the country from Oz.. even if she DID commit the crime, it wasn't worth the sentence they gave her! Poor lady, six years for sex on the beach!

I have just been to Dubai, the beaches are in full view of hundreds of building sites, there is NO shade, no trees , no discrete areas, you' d have to be NUTS to have sex on a beach in Dubai..plus it was 47 degrees centigrade..under the sun umbrella..mad dogs and english women…
Whoa. The same thing probably almost happened to me in 2000 in Egypt ( down the bottom on the beach somewhere). I was 19 and being very cosy with another sexy Italian backpacker. I was drunk, some men tried to grab me and arrest me or something, and the Italian fought them off dramatically and we ran bolted!! I never really gave it much thought, this story reminded me of it, and made me realise how sour the situation could have turned. Yikes!

And unlike some of the narrow minded pricks that think they know it all (you don't by the way- have you ever even left your home town you inbred morons?!?!), Dubai is still an amazing place to be- just accept their culture- it's not hard.

Umm for those who havent been to dubai, i.e. Perez Hilton..let me just tell you something, when i went into my hotel room in Dubai, there was a piece of paper written eloquently about the hotel and the country, and it reminded me that this is a Muslim country that I'm visiting..so the fact that this third world country had the deceny and the elegance to pardon our manners, was very respectable
also, Dubai is just an example of how advanced the arab world can be..even a modernized part of the Arab world has to be put under scrutiny..
and just so you know, there are lots and lots of gay people, and there are bars and bikinis everywhere
going back to the story, everyone is informed about the certain rules and laws to abide by in Dubai and the fact that this woman ignored these rules is just wrong, i also want to add that this is Arab related, and seeing how the media is nowadays, Perez must have managed only to get the part about the woman facing 6 years, and maybe the 6 years isn't final..
my point is, when any news you read is Arab/muslim-related just be cautious, a lot of things are missed and translated wrong..and the media has this painstacking way of just targeting the bad news, or manipulating the good news

It is a VERY conservative country and the police OBVIOUSLY gave her an opportunity to go back to her hotel room without any consequences. In the US they would have been arrested immediately. I imagine the same holds true for England. This idiot has no one to blame but herself. If I were the British Ambassador to Dubai I would not lift a finger to help her. What an embarrassment this woman is to her country.

To all of you saying "Don't go to Dubai", please don't come here. We don't want, nor need, your attitude. For those who aren't ignorant, Dubai is possibly one of the best cities in the world - even with their rules. When I visit America, I abide by American rules - the same goes here. People seem to forget that this is a muslim country and at the end of the day, they're being pretty darn open about letting us live here, party here, drink here. Anyone who is here knows about the rules and the ramifications - if you don't, and you've been here longer than a month, then you're an idiot.
