Why would you call this a 'douche' move? It's perfectly natural to flip out on people who are putting you and your party in danger.
No way that was a douche move, I would have wanted to run them over. Assholes deserved worse, one even told the others to move b/c "It's against the law to block him."
If they impede your ability to function like walking or create an unsafe situation for you (partic if you have a loved one with you) I say run them over. They are parasites that have no discernable use or skill in life and most of them are blood sucking ticks that provoke the people they're stalking. If people want to just take pictures, okay, but when you start blocking a person or getting into their personal space, no matter what, you're asking to get the shit kicked out of you and you deserve it.
it's not really a meltdown.. it's called a normal reaction.

Yeah, what an asshole for not wanting to blindly roll into a busy street and possibly cause an accident. The non-diva thing to do would just be to sit there in the parking garage until the paps run out of film or just get bored.

Do restaurants have any say in who can loiter on their private property in gated parking lots? Maybe celebs should refuse to spend money in upscale restaurants that choose to exploit rather than protect them. Why were the valets allowing the photogs to swarm and harass like that?
The photogs were mocking & abusive, which isn't OK. Tobey should be financially independent now so maybe it's time to stick to restaurants that protect high profile clients or to use a limo or a driver who can phone them when he's on the street out in front or in back. Then they can just walk out, jump in, and whiz away. I'm sure there are some discreet, trustworthy people in this town who would jump at the chance to earn a hundred bucks or so a night just to sit in their car a few blocks away, playing Nintendo DS for a few hours until Tobey et al were ready to leave.
