You know when Howard Stern is involved there's bound to be controversy.
Stern held a contest this past May for the "Ugliest Dude, Hottest Wife" contest.
The winner was a second-grade teacher who ended up skipping work on a "sick day" to take part in the competition.
Marie Jarry and her husband joined Stern on his show with her wearing a bikini and talking about her sex life.
And, just shortly after winning the $5,000 prize for the contest, Jarry resigned from her teaching position at Thalberg Elementary School in Southington.
According to Jarry, she only left after being forced to resign.
So what happens now?
Obviously, Jarry has decided to sue the school officials and her union.
She has already filed her lawsuit in the Hartford federal court.
Jarry is now demanding that she be given her job back, as well as receive back pay from when she resigned.
We bet some of the parents won't be too happy to have her back.
People are prudes in the U.S.!

I happen to live in the town where this took place (Southington, CT) and this whole thing blew over more than a month ago. Mrs. Jarry violated the strict policies that are in place in Southington. She was wrong to use a sick day. It is fitting that she should not get her job back. Simple as that.
I am a teacher; she was WRONG for doing what she did. She does NOT deserve her job back.

I knew a girl who called out sick to go skiing and then posted pictures and wrote about it on her myspace despite being friends there with her managers. So they of course saw it and she was fired. So that lady needs to shut the fuck up. Sounds like its a pretty normal procedure in that situation.
Yet another "exclusive" from Perez. This story is OLD! I heard the show and watched it on Howard on Demand. She did nothing but miss a day of work. Everyone uses sick day for mental health time all the fucking time. I'm close friends with an elementary art teacher and she's been fired twice for the most ridiculous things. First, having a My Space page that they thought was too "colorful". I might add, there was no nudity or bad language. She was also fired because some kid made up a lie about an assignment she gave them. And of course the parent believed the kid, and forced the principal to get rid of her. I used to hate kids. But it's really the parents I hate.

The reason I mentioned it was because IF some parent heard the show…they would have heard that this teacher was perfectly innocent. Most likely, someone HEARD that she wasON the show and blew a gasket without hearing the SHOW ITSELF. Most importantly, the show is NOT available over the open airwaves. This is about a show that is "private" subscription only radio…sort of like Showtime…where it's the PARENTS responsibilty to make sure that the viewers are of age. It's the PARENTS responisiblity to make sure their UNDERAGE children are NOT listening to the program. My analogy of a night club is wrong…I said that before….but it's not too far off. This woman appeared on a show to win money. She conducted her self in a lovey manner. Face it - the morality issue is not about her appearance on the Howard Stern Show. The moral failure was that she lied - took a paid sick day, not an unpaid personal day, in order to appear in a contest for personal gain. If she'd asked to take an unpaid personal day, and was fired AFTER being allowed to take the day off, then I'd have sympathy. But she didn't do that - she LIED.
You know what? A bunch of years ago, I called in sick in order to go to a concert - I got caught (a coworker saw me), and I got fired. I wasn't happy about getting fired, but I understood their point. That's how it works in the real world - you lie to your employer, and you get fired. She needs to get over it, and stop asking for handouts for her own stupidity.

Teachers in America aren't allowed freedom. They have to watch what they say & do every hour of every day. They can't do part-time work on the side if it is questionable at all because most teaching contracts have a "moral turpitude" clause which means if someone doesn't like you, they can get rid of you if they find anything out about you in your personal life that merits question. I got out of the profession because of all the bullshit that you get from administration and the lies you have to live in order to keep a paltry paycheck. There are certain things you just can't do when you are a teacher,or in any profession of the sort, and lying about being sick and then showing up on television and talking about your sex life is one of them.
The children aren't going to be watching Howard Stern's show lol so that's not really the issue. The fact that she lied about being sick and then went on TV and spoke about her sex life while wearing a bikini is behaviour that is unbecoming and inappropriate, even though she is beautiful, for someone who's job is to teach children.
She didn't do anything that will affect the children, but what she did was still wrong.
I do not think she should get her job back or win the lawsuit for the simple fact that she did something she is well aware that she was not supposed to do.

The reson is, children are impressionable. I am a teacher, and we have (and she does as well) a "morals clause" in our contracts, which this teacher obviously did not follow. In addition, there are strict guidelines about what exactly sick days can be used for, and this rule was broken. No one is saying that this teacher can't have a life outside of work, or that she shouldn't be having sex, but she should not be broadcasting her sexual experiences and posing in a bikini on TV to prove how "sexy" she is. Teachers have been fired, (with the "morality clause" being cited) for having provocative myspace pages, so certainly this woman appearing in a "sexy wife" contest while talking about her sex life for the world to see violates that clause. Save the sex talk for lunch with your girlfriends and take the bikini to the beach.
The local news are the only reason she was "exposed" to the children. They posted a picture directly from the show. It's on pay radio, during school hours, and to see it you have to pay for HowardTV. It's fucking pathetic. Yeah, she shouldn't have taken a paid sick day for it, but that's the only thing she should be punished for.
southington is host to a fucked up elementary school AND college! Briarwood College in CT is the place to go if you want your dean of student life ALL up in your business & blabbing it to whomever.
