Thus, Democrats like FDR were popular and held power. The Democrats of the early 20th Century, like FDR, were actually fairly conservative because people were still in survival mode thanks to wars and a depression. Today, people are not in survival mode and, thus, the Democratic party is now so far left, it's literally Communist. Look at people like John Kerry, John Edwards, Ted Kennedy, the Clintons, Harry Reid, Nancy Pilosi, Dick Durbin - it's hard to imagine that they're even American. People like this only have a prayer of getting votes if the electorate is looking to punish Republicans. Democrats today run on a platform of weak military, high taxes, big government, illegal alien rights, minority rights, gay rights, conservation, etc. These ides will never be popular in America. 1. George Washington was the Commander and Chief of the Revolutionary Forces which was the most important thing at the time. He didn't have universal health care to worry about or social security or gay rights, etc. It was about fighting for and keeping independence at the time. That was it. He had that experience.

Moreover, since hispanics aren't white, they shouldn't be included in the 'white' catagory. Just because the census does it one way doesn't mean they are white. The government for census purposes includes hispanics in the white catagory for political reasons. It's the same reason you can't track the number of hispanics in prison. They were told not too because it would piss off the masses who where paying to imprison them.
