Okay. I'll admit i'm a Conservative, proud right wing female living in a tremendously blue state. I think his comment is absolutely idiotic. One thing I have always been ok with are gay/lesbians. What someone's orientation is doesn't affect me personally, as I know I'm straight. But I would NEVER be so completely superior in telling someone they have no right to marry or adopt someone because he or she is gay. Children become well adjusted by the raising of them; it doesn't matter if they have both mommies or daddies. Kids just want love, and if two same-sexed couples want to love a child, all the blessings to them. I think it's wonderful. There are so many kids out there that need loving homes.

So single parents can't produce a successful family?
Single parent families come from more than just divorce; what about rape, death, and runaway spouses. Seriously, single parent families of America should be outraged. Children can grow up well adjusted without two parents.
Giving gay couples the opportunity to be parents opens the pool of good parents for children. Nothing is wrong with that and no child can have enough positive adult figures in their lives, regardless of sex OR sexuality.

The last line is correct politics shouldn't dictate where children go. The rest of your post is hot garbage. Every dhild in foster care up for adoption is placed by a CASE WORKER. If the child has extended family willing and capable of taking care of them the state will give guardainship to their next of kin so what you state is invalid. If there was a gay family member in the picture you mean to say your neices and nephews won't choose them? With your logic and outlook on gay people since you have revealed you're completely ignorant, it's unlikely there are gays in your family therefore your whole argument and premise is INVALID.

Wow, here is what is surprising to me. Perez posted this on his website I'm assuming to get peoples thoughts, opinions, and reactions. What is sad to me is that very few people can express anything without tearing apart another person. Whether you believe in gay adoption or not is it necessary to be so violent in actions and words when expressing that opinion?
I am of the opinion that it is more important for a child to have a loving, caring home, with consistancy. My parents hated each other, and they fought alllllll the time. But because they were male and female does that make it ok? No. Divorce, abuse, fighting can occur with two men, two women, or a man and a woman. At least if a child is being adopted he/she has a chance at knowing what it is like to be a part of a family. And that is something that is priceless. Is marriage perfect? No. Should we keep a child from having a family just because it's not your stereotypical "man and woman, till death do you part….", I don't believe so.
The fact that so many people feel the need to put down another lifestyle, the fact that so many people can't even try to look at a situation from another angle, makes me very sad.

Before ANY couple can adopt, their homelife, relationship, income, and mental stability is checked to make sure the kid has a good home. So…what. A gay couple that passes all these tests is less worthy to raise a child than ANY hetero couple? WTF?

Obviously he's done no legitimate research - a straight couple does not equal a loving or appropriate home for a child. My husband was adopted, and while his mom is a loving and caring woman - his "father" was a complete dick who delivered mental abuse almost everyday. My husband would have been better off in a single parent (with the mom, who is now divorced by the way) or a loving gay couple's home, then with the "father" he ended up with. JOHN MCCAIN IS A MORON!

My best friend is gay. She has been with her partner for the same amount of time I have been with my husband, 27 years. Our daughters grew up to be best friends. Both of our daughters are being married just one month apart, they will be each other's honor attendants. Both of our daughters are straight. Both of our daughters are professionals. All three of us are mothers of the (respective) bride, and we are giddy as a bunch of schoolgirls over it. God Bless my friends. I only wish I could be attending THEIR marriage too.
