This remark should actually create an outrage because it is both stupid and hateful. What does the one thing have to do with the other? McCain says that gay people adopt kids that would otherwise have the option of having both biological parents. Nothing could be further from the truth: You can't adopt a kid unless its biological parents don't want it or don't feel they have the means to raise it - and that is true for ALL adoptions and has NOTHING to do with gay or straight. So one might argue that it would be desirable to have a child being raised by its biological parents (which is still debatable and far from proven). But this is just not an option in most adoption cases, Mr. McCain. Shame on you for such a random gay-bashing comment.

Is he serious? Has it occurred to the man that generally, in a homosexual relationship, there would be 2 parents? My mother is a lesbian and she and her partner did a wonderful job of raising myself and my 4 siblings (1 biological, 3 from mom's partner). We were all lucky to have our fathers in our lives, but regardless, both my lesbian mother and her partner are very much capable parents… they tried to adopt once… weren't allowed of course. Idiotic government.

Unless the FBI opened a chain of orphanages last night while I was sleeping, the President of the United States has no power to do anything about adoption policy. That's governed by individual nonprofits in accordance with state and local law. McCain could come out in support of banning breast-feeding or legalizing baby bowling at orphanages and it would be beyond the constitutional power of any federal entity to implement, much less President McCain, specifically. He's shoring up his base by letting them think he'll do something they want, without ever intending to actually do it. Obama's the exact same way on gay marriage. Did you not notice he is against it on both the federal and state levels? Well, Obama is against gay marriage, but he's happy to let millions of gullible gay people like Perez believe he's not.

I'd get into the theology of this if I had time, but, read Galatians and Hebrews: Christians are to obey the teachings of Christ and ignore completely the laws of Moses, unless there is an overlap between the two.

I have to have a little input here…. i work with children with many different mental issues and just kids with really bad self esteem issues etc.. almost 85 percent of them are from single parent homes… sorry to say but its the truth. Now adoption is tricky cause god only knows what kind of life they are coming from, but children who grow up in families… lets say out of the "norm" Tend to have alot of issues, and i'm not talking drinking underage i mean, heavy drugs, self mutilation, anorexia and a much higher suicide rate as well. So, the question is are they really better off?? Now add the fact that your parents are gay???? These kids will be targets for being picked on as well, i think he has a valid point, i know there are also kids from single parent homes who are just fine, but compare it to the amount who are not… then add that your parents or parent is gay… not so good.
