Where are your facts for this? No major studies have been done on this and I don't put much stock in McCain "standing up for himself" since he flip flops so much an so many issues/ especially religous ones. Fine where you live kids w/ single parents or same sex parents are fucked up, that's your experience. I on the other hand know PLENTY of single parents ( divorced or spouse died) as well as gay couples that have kids and have succefully raised children that are happy, well adjusted and tolerant of anyone different from them whether it be color, religion or sexual preference.

I'm not sure that gay adoption is a great idea, in that respect, because there is so much homophobia still in existance and it isn't fair for a child to have to grow up in an 'abnormal' family. Nature didn't intend for us to have two parents of the same sex.
Besides, as the saying goes, homosexuals are God's way of ensuring that the truly gifted and talented people of this world aren't burdened with children.

I agree with a lot of what you said about the precondition for being the type of people that should be able to adopt is that they are a loving couple. If you actually read my post more closely you will see that I agree that gay people should be allowed to adopt, my opinion is that is is a selfish act and they shouldn't go it. Many people on here are calling me names and speaking about tolerance. How come those same people that are calling for my tolerance and not tolerant of my right to have an opinion. I do not have children, but when I do I plan to teach them tolerance or all types of people. I am not ignorant nor am I placing stereotypes on people that are untrue. Do you not agree that it is unnatural to having sexual relations with a person of the opposite sex. There are many people out there that are loving people that can provide a good home for orphans, but I would prefer that it a a dual parent household with a man and a woman.

Unnatural = having sex with a person of the opposite sex. Again, I did not say that gays should not be allowed to adopt, I just disagree with that choice. It is selfish because the child grows up is a very unnatural environment. And before you point to the fact that a straight couple could provide an unhealthy environment,yes, you're right and I disagree with that too, but it doesn't change the fact that when you have a great straight couple and a great gay couple, the child who grows up in the straight house will have a better chance of being more well adjusted. Okay, so I am glad that you love being gay, but how does the rest of your family feel? Do you wish everyone to be gay and if so what would happen to the human population? The answer to that question should tell you whether it is natural or not. Also, homosexuality does have a negative effect on people, you are a very angry person it seems, but not as angry as GWM. Also, and I hate to bring it up but I have to. Aids spreads more easily through through gay population, so that is another reason it negatively effects people. AND your definition of natural is in the physical sense with environment, not in the emotional sense of humans in which I refer to.

You are wrongn in regards to a child being happy 1 way or another. The world is unforgiving and harsh, bullies r bullies period. Children are a lot tougher and resilient than you think & to have reluctance to accept people as they are PEOPLE is due to our social constructs. Society dictates that "blue is for boy and pink is for girls" it is a LEARNED behavior. Children don't come into the world w/ prejudices, they are born craving human closeness and love.
Children in foster care only care about love & protection It is people that are fearful of the changes to the definiton of family that resist gay adoption. Isolating the argument to just gay couples is also ridiculous there are single people out there raising children on their own everyday.
