According to reports, the illustrator, artist Barry Blitt, "satirizes the use of scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama’s campaign.”
We think it's adding fuel to the fire, though. There are some people out there who will think that it's Michelle and Barack who are being satirized.
It just seems to reinforce the inaccurate shizz that's always attributed to the Obamas.
Obama spokesperson Bill Burton said in a statement, “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree."
A McCain mouthpiece said, “We completely agree with the Obama campaign, it’s tasteless and offensive.”
We bet the Republicans are LOVING this, though!
To make things fair we think the New Yorker should feature a McCain 'satire' on the cover too.

Take the next step and learn why. I'm not saying it's right but ask what has America been doing over seas for the rest of the world to have such a negative opinion of us? Everything is not as one sided as you want it to appear.
I Lost my husband in the Trade Center, I was angry and bitter and wanted Bush to kill as many of them as possible. In investigating my husband's murder I learned the reasons why the extremist Jihadists exist what I didn't expect is the sympathy from more moderate Muslims who took the time out to explain why young Muslims are gullable and make easy prey to fall into Terrorism and more importantly why foreigners in general do not have a good opinion of the United States. We do a lot of questionable things overseas, especially in regards to our Foreign Policies. I'm not here to change your opinion, I am here to motivate moreAmericans to be informed and get involved in our goverment. Learn what we are doing and curb our heavy handed politics. Also, I never realized how much news we were NOT getting. Start watching the BBC for unbiased reporting atleast, the British are willing to admit when they have done wrong and report fairly when discussing world events. If people still think Osama attacked us only because of our culture, Britney Spears and our "Godless" society , you have a lot to learn.

I remember 9/11 as every American should. Take a moment and reflect on every innocent life taken by murderers. Those murders were celebrated in EVERY muslim country around the world. When we lost our beloved sons in Somalia in what has been called "Black Hawk Down" and their bodies were defiled in every vile way as they were pulled through the streets. Every muslim country celebrated. Muslim homocide bombers kill innocent people including women and children and evry muslim celebrates. No Obama I will never vote for you or your terrorist cohorts. Every immigrant minus prisoners (penil colony of Georgia) and African Americans came to America of their own free will. Sorry to disappoint but I'm not Muslim nor black. If you want to know I am not ashamed to say I am a white American, college educated and hold a regular 9 to 5 like everyone else. I have a brother in Afghanistan and an Uncle in Iraq and they have changed since the wars. I am 21 years old and just moved out of my parents house sharing a condo with 3 of my best buds that have served in Iraq. I was rejected for my service due to my asthma and weight.
