I've never been to LA (yet) so can't comment on whether she's right. BUT I can tell you she & her idiot husband have a country mansion at the Tremblant Ski resort in Quebec (it's about an hour north of Montreal) — anyhow, everyone hates her. She comes into the lodge at the top of the mountain and sits around waiting to be recognized then sulks & makes a scene if no one does. And when she eats out (and there are some AMAZING French restaurants there) she's rude to the staff and, worst of all, is a lousy, cheap tipper. She's just a vulgar cow, in my view.
I couldn't agree more. I left running from L.A. in 2003 and moved to Texas where there is sanity. Any place run by liberals becomes unliveable eventually. California, New York, Michigan and all of Europe are great examples

I've lived in LA, NY, San Francisco and Miami. 1) Miami is a horrible tacky superficial hot humid inferno. LA is ok for 3 years. NY is great when you are young. San Francisco is THE BEST always.

I have always said that I don't like that woman and I don't live in LA. I remember when they were on trial because some mag. had pictures of her wedding and she was like "a million dollars is nothing to me. We make a million dollars in a day." You don't have to put "twat" on her photo. She's entitled to saying what she thinks. I don't live in LA, I visit there just about every spring. I personally like it, but there are parts that I find trashy. Although Hollywood is very much a part of LA, there are differences. And there are the Hollywood douche bag young crowd. She has kids, she's probably right about being older and having a family there. But who gives a fack, I'll raise my family in Bel Air if she doesn't want to.
Why does speaking the factual truth qualify Ms. Zeta-Jones as a "twat"? Anyone who is stuck living in L.A. agrees. The only people who like it here are fame-hungry nutcases who seriously believe that if they hang out at the right Starbucks, they are going to be discovered as so much more than the extra they really are ….
Los Angeles County has an illiteracy rate of well over 40%. Who thinks that living in a city where half the population can't read sounds cool? That means half the population can't legitimately earn a driver's license (much less read road signs), get an education, or even fill out a job application properly. Think of how that translates into day-to-day life interacting, on every level, with your fellow county citizens. It's a horrific place to live! Some of us are just stuck here and Ms. Zeta-Jones is fortune to not be.
I also fully agree with her re raising children here. If you have to you have to; but she obviously is a good mother by facing the reality and truth and not subjecting her children to the "culture" here - much less the toxic environmental conditions, hazardous traffic, etc. etc.
I totally agree with her. LA is full of drug addicts. homeless people and very fake people! Who the hell would want to live there?

No doubt this place is full of fake, superficial people and priorities. No doubt an authentic person can feel like throwing up being around here hanging around the wrong crowd. But in no way can you criticize and "hate" this beautiful city. It is a gorgeous place and I feel lucky to be here. That said, some of the worst people here are those who have moved from other states and go overboard trying to "fit in." They become some of the most shallow and superficial and nastiest people here. So hate the people, but don't knock this awesome city. Choose your words better mother superior.

I live in bermuda not far where they have their home - I've heard some real nasty things about her from the people who live on the island. We shared a cab driver - he use to drive me to my catholic school there, I know spoiled. He told me he drove her to an event once, That "her people" asked him if she could smoke in his cab, and he said that she could but he would charge 100 dollars a cigeratte because he normally does not let people smoke in his cab - it was a nice cab. So I guess she smokes a lot, he made a lot of money that night off her cigerattes. He didn't go to the event but he picked her up and "her people" told him he needs to tell her how great her speech was, and how he really liked certain parts that they informed him of.

I'm born and raised inland empire where my block everyone knows everyone and we're all like a big family, and I love So Cal because that's where I'm from, but at the same time, it's not ultimately where I wanna live out my whole life. Every major city is going to have crime, drugs, and smog, that's just how it goes and even you small town people too, you just don't know about it. But here's what I've learned everyone not from L.A. hears "oh you're from Ca? so you're from L.A." which isn't the case… just like if you said you were from lee mass they'd think Boston. And pretty much everyone not from Southern Ca. Hates So. Cal. it's just a fact. get used to it. lol. I actually had some chick in N.Y. say that she grew up hating Cali people because quote on quote "we just wanna be like New Yorkers" which anyone FROM Cali knows isn't the case. It is overcrowded, noisy, and people on the subway commuting to and from work are just depressing. The winters are long and miserable with grey skies. I imagine any place with sunny skies would look good to you now. So I think you have a uniquely positive perspective on L.A. because you came from NYC. If you came from a smaller, lusher, greener place you might not feel the same way about L.A.
I don't live there, but people in these comments are saying 10 million people, that it's incredibly demanding to live there, etc. Think of the scientific studies with rats in cages. The overcrowding studies they have done shows rats, like people, begin to lash out at each other in stressful, overcrowded conditions. I CAN speak to feeling this way living in NYC. It was overcrowded and I felt like I had NO PERSONAL SPACE and I had to GET THE HELL OUT. If L.A. is similar I couldn't possibly consider it.
