Warner Bros.' Batman: The Dark Knight is going to be H-U-G-E.
We mentioned last week that industry experts estimate a $130 million opening weekend for the flick (or possibly higher).
Here are more stats that prove just how big this weekend will be for the film:
- 4,366 screens across North America will be playing the Heath Ledger starring movie. Hollywood insiders say that's an industry record!
- Fandango (which sells tickets to more than 15,000 theater screens) reports that The Dark Knight accounts for an impressive 90% of all ticket sales for the upcoming weekend. Dayum! Hope y'all got your tickets early like we did!
- MovieTickets.com says The Dark Knight has sold out 700 performances in North America and is outselling 3 of MovieTickets.com’s Top 10 Performing Films of All-Time. To date, the newest Batman has more than 3-times as many advance tickets as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, more than 2-times as many as Spider-Man 3 and almost 2-times as many as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the same point in the sales cycle.

Saw this movie on Wednesday and its the BEST superhero movie ever!!! Heath just stole the show for me, he was amazingly talented. Definitely gonna go see this movie again!

watched it elready, and may i say.. HEATH LEDGER was so great. and im not honoring him because he's gone (god rest his soul) but he played joker w/ much intensity and creativity. I think the movie revolved around him. Christian Bale was also good. Aaron Eckhart was dashing as always. Maggie Gylenhaal, did good too. i so wished he's (heath) still alive. he's one of the greatest actors we have.

i saw the movie last night… AMAZING. Heath plays the perfect joker. he is funny scary and sadistic. he was amazinng.. thats all i can say.
too bad he died. it would have been awesome to bring back the joker in the next one. he played it soooooo well
i seen a screening of it yesterday and it was the best movie of the summer its a sin to watch it and know that he wont be back to play the joker again u guys have to see this movie
heath ledger plays the joker the way it should have played.
although jack nicholson played a good one also.. Heath took it to the next level. Heath defiantely stole the whole movie. he had me laughing my ass off. i am going to see it again tonight def. its worth another 10 dollars. Heath didnt just play the part of the joker he transformed the joker and made it his own. that takes some serious talent. he brought the joker to life. i wish he was still here to do another batman that would be fiyah. and for everyone who is being totally un-humaine and saying "he's dead blah blah" shame on you. this was a life that was cut short. tell me that you have never made mistakes? nobody is perfect. have a heart and soul people and have some desenscy and respect for the dead.

Christian Bale is by Far the best batman. This movie was the best movie i have seen in the past year. its suspensful.. funny and sadistic. the dark perception of batman and gotham is key.
this is the greatest batman film to come out yet. and i love all the other

I saw the movie at 7 pm last night and it is amazing!!!! Heath leger's joker stole the whole show!!! He played it so perfect and quirky and dark. He better get an oscar for it. The movie was dark, real, and perfect!

I want to see this movie at some point. Currently, I find myself suffering from a very bad case of Heath Ledger fatigue. Has there ever been so much Oscar talk about a performance months before the movie even comes out? Look, I get it…it is a shame he died. BUT…he was some actor that overdosed on pills not a firefighter saving babies from a burning building. Not very impressive that he ran out on his wife the second she had their baby. Perspective people. Christian Bale is a better actor than Heath Ledger anyways.

OMFG that movie was so amazing! In the words of Christian Siriano it was feirce! I watched it this morning with my friends and we decided it was the best movie we've ever seen. All you guys go watch it! The ads dont even begin to say how awesome it is.
HEATH LEDGER CARRIED THIS FILM, I love Bale, but even he admits it was Ledger's Joker who stole this show….
i saw it last night at 12:05 AM LOL! okay i was there an hour early with friends and the theatre was ALMOST COMPLETELY FUCKING FULL. it was ridicilous! and yes the movie does live up to everything that ppl said it would be. it was great. ppl will love it. this summer has some good blockbusters i've got to say.

I attended the midnight screening last night. It was phenomenal. What a fantastic movie. I was a little disapointed that there was no tribute to Heath at the end, as I was expecting, but it was amazing.
He LEXXA.. there was a tribute at the end. Along with someone else. (i think) it went too fast. lol
BUT JOKER WAS AMAZING. Dead or alive… Heath deserves that nod for an Oscar. well deserved. so dark, so out of this world. Can't really describe it and that nurse outfit! Brilliant!!

Re: when? – he died January 22, 2008. He died of an accidental perscription drug overdose. He died in his apartment in New York City.
Heath's joker was incredible. He was such an amazingperson, father, and actor. He will be missed dearly, and always hold a place in my heart. R.I.P. Heath.
