Mommy Angelina Jolie and the Wonder Twins are all in excellent health but are still cooped up in the hospital.
Angie, who gave birth this past Saturday, will reportedly stay put for another few days.
A hospital spokesperson said, "After a C-section, the normal stay for a mother in the Lenval hospital is between eight and 10 days…And I'm not sure what day she will be leaving. Only when Dr. Sussmann is completely satisfied that she is in good health and fully recovered from the C-section."
A source says that Jolie's doctor knows that she'll try to do too much and that a few days of rest will do her good. "Angelina has four young and lively children at home, and he suspects the temptation to get up out of bed and play with them will overwhelm her," says the source. "He knows how much she misses the other children, but he feels that she will benefit from a few extra days' rest. They're being very well cared for."

She should be home bonding her babies with the other kids. Too much rest after surgery leads to blood clots in the legs, pneumonia and weakness from muscle disuse. That doc wants the attention he's getting.

Re: momma – that's because hospitals are for sick people. At the end of 48 hours, with no fever and no complications, you can go HOME and recuperate. The hospital is no longer a baby sitter for personal recovery. You are in MORE danger in the hospital from infection than you are at home. The hospital knows that. Maybe they should have told you. the nursing shortage exists and it is one of the reasons that you have to go home and take care of yourself. the hospital can't hire enough staff to take care of people who aren't sick!

If new parents – again! – Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie need a night out alone, at least one famous friend has already volunteered to help.
"I'm willing to babysit for them!" Jolie's pal Wyclef Jean tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story. The musician, who has partnered with the couple for his Yéle Haiti charity in the past, says he has no doubt they can handle their brood of six now that twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon are here.
"They will do well," he says. "I have a lot of well wishes for them."
So do many of Jolie's costars, including Michael Kelly, who appears with her in the upcoming Clint Eastwood-directed drama The Changeling.
"I saw her with kids on-set and she's just such a wonderful mom," Kelly tells PEOPLE. "You see her with the kids and it's like, 'Yeah, that's the way it's supposed to be.' "
Since the twins' emotional birth in Nice, France, on July 12, Jolie and the babies have remained at the scenic Fondation Lenval hospital. Dr. Michel Sussmann, who delivered the babies, told PEOPLE everyone is doing "very well" following a July 14 checkup.
When Vivienne, Knox and Jolie are released, likely in the next few days, they are expected to return to the Château Miraval, where the family is staying until they return to the U.S. in the fall.

i am a physician not an OB/GYN but I know how long anyone is in the hospital after c section . even women with TWINS go home after a couple days not 8-10. The ONLY reason someone would stay that long is if they lost almost all the blood from their body and now are critically ill.
I feel like she MAY be having surgeries done (tummy surgery) but it's not recommended to have surgery right after a c section. Docs are against it but she can still choose to do it if she wants to.

What?!!! 8-10 days?! Are you kidding me! I was out after 3 with 2 of mine and 5 with the 1 because I had an infection. No one needs to stay in the hospital that long, especially since all her other kids have nannies and a father! Why doesn't she just go home and hire a private nurse? Weird.
Viva la French Health Care System for not shipping women out of the hospital too quickly. I was sent home after a C-Section and very difficult delivery after 4 days. I was lucky! Most women go home after 2-3 days. Under the French health care system Angelina will most likely be eligible for physical therapy to help strengthen her stomach muscles. The real secret to why French Women aren't FAT!!!!

i abrupted when i was preggers with my twins. the hospital stay lasted 10 days. i lost lots and lots of blood and my kidneys shut down.
Angelina and J-Lo in particular are bullshit role models of women who "have it all" (nannies, maids, stylists and hairdressers of course hidden for the photo ops). The sad thing is, lots of women eat this idea in huge scoops and then wonder why their lives aren't like magazines.

I was in the hospital for 9 days after my twins were born. I was doing fine, but the babies were in the NICU, and then needed to gain weight. They kept me so I could be near the babies. This is not unusual or weird at all. I'm sure she'll one day want plastic surgery, but they do NOT do tummy tucks or breast lifts after c-sections. That's ridiculous and frankly impossible . . . she just had major abdominal surgery and needs to heal.
