gossip girl is an amazing show. for the parents who don't let their kids watch this show, it's not doing anything. chances are, your kids are doing things you don't want them to do, whether they watch this show or not. oh yeah and chace crawford is insanely hot =]
i LOVE this show! i absolutely cannot wait for the second season!
and this show is not aimed for 12 year olds whoever said that. the show is about juniors in high school. obviously it's not very realistic but anyone who says that teenagers should'nt watch the show is seriously mistaken. the show is made for girls in highschool! i think that girls should be 14+ to watch gossip girl. but it's a great show!

Teen pregnancy DID exist before Juno came out…

u must be OUT OF YOUR MIND if you think TV shows & movies are the reason why there are so many teen pregnancies today. I'm also 14, and I agree that teens aren't the smartest people around, but theyre not idiots enough to emulate stuff they see on TV like little kinndergarteners.I think that is a personal choice if you want to be pregnant, and you can't blame actors, directors, and screenwriters for making things teens actually want to watch.
i would never ever let my daughter watch this show, not until she was at least 18…. but i love it!
Oh come on, i am sure the tweens has seen worse than this, its a terrific show, everything on tv now is reality shows, we watch tv to escape reality and Gossip Girl Does the JOB, LOve the AD!

Any parent that would let there kid read the Gossip Girl Series should have no problem with them watching the TV show…it was a book b4 it was a show. I personally love the show…it's addictive

I think that the show is only suitable for people over the age of 15. I'm almost 17 now.. and i think its alright for teens as SOME of the things to replicate real life and they have the knowledge about sex, drugs and alcohol. For tweens i agree that it is highly unsuitable. Some say that this show is aimed towards them, however i would have to disagree. The show is definately aimed towards older teens as the characters themselves are in their final year/s of highschool, with the exception of jenny (not to sure how old she is in the show). Shows like this are NOT influencing tweens/teens to go have sex and get pregnant. Its more educating them NOT to do it because it can disrupt their picture perfect life. Take Blair for example, she wouldn't even take the pregnancy test because she didn't want it to be positive. Highlighting the fact that teenage pregnancy is looked down on because of her attitude. Perhaps the show shouldn't have highlight the fact she had unprotected sex, but if they don't cross the line and have those sceens in the show, hows anyone going to learn?

the show is really not for "tweens" its for teenagers, and when they came out with the book it was said to be a younger version of sex and the city for teenagers but w.e. i'll b watching it

I love this show, and would let my kids watch it, teach your child the difference between fiction and reality, and stop blaming media. This show is based on a series of books that i read when I was younger, it is no more scandelous than the o.c or one tree hill and those shows are amazing as well, i think people need to stop blaming and start enjoying!!
Honestly, I don't know why you won't let your 'tweens' watch this. I'm 15, and I actually have the common sense not to get knocked up at my age. This show doesn't advertise sex. It's only in there a few times, and sex isn't such a big deal now a days. You'd probably be surprised by your children if you allowed them to watch it. In a good way.
I think it's hilarious how people blame this show on teen pregnancies, as if these shows delibrately say, "Hey, have babies, then you'll be sexy like us!" Only a complete and total moron could watch something and say, "Wow, I want babies now!" YOU'RE FUCKING STUPID IF YOU BLAME SHOWS AND MOVIES FOR YOUR ISSUES. Why don't you stop blaming everything else and take responsibility for your own dumbass mistakes?

Well,I never watch GG because it has no appeal to me but I do watch SATC and I don't think that well raised,morale kids (like myself) would be influnced by television for nothing other than style. However, I'm conscientious, and would rather she not have Ho's for role models, etc.

If you raise your kid to be smart enough to wait then no movie or television ad will change their mind. also if you talk to your kid about protection and have an open policy about this stuff then they will be more mature about it
People (especially teenage girls) who watch this show and don't understand that it isn't reality, but a show that's created to entertain us (whitch Gossip Girl does extremely well), are stupid, and shouldn't turn on the tv in the first place. Television is full of inappropriate shows nowadays. GET OVER IT! If the show is good, why not watch it?

No. Young girls go out and get preggo because obviously their parents did a horrible job at raising them.
Shows do nothing. Gossip Girl is NOT telling kids to go out and have sex. And besides, all the actor's characters are old enough to be mature enough to handle sex.
Instead of blaming the show, you should be blaming the ignorance of children themselves.
Hey, I'm a teenager, and this show (which is actually pretty good) doesn't make me want to have sex. I take it for what it is, a *show* not real life, then again, some people have trouble knowing the difference.

omg BEST SHOW EVER! i would totally let my 'tween' watch it…if i had kids that is. i mean as long as they are smart enough not to do anything that they see done then its fine. listen im 15 and i love this show. it has no influence on me whatsoever and i think its crazy that people think that shows have influence on people so easily…fyi teens have brains to ya know. i love this show but i dont drink or smoke so it obviouslly is not a bad example. its a guilty pleasure. and i have never met anyone whose actually been influenced by this. so get over it :]

This show is awsome! It's based on real life and ppl who think it's a a bad influence to teens GET A LIFE… Teens get pregnant because they want to, they know the consequences so get it right! It's just a TV show…TWO THUMBS UP BABY!!!
